What is happening?

NATIONAL HIGHWAYS

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTIONS 14(1)(b)
THE A6 AND A5111 TRUNK ROADS (THULSTON TO NORTH OF ALVASTON, DERBYSHIRE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A6 and A5111 Trunk Roads, between Thulston and north of Alvaston, in the County of Derbyshire, to allow the safe movement of an abnormal load vehicle to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to–
 (a) close, subject to exemptions,–
i. the northbound carriageway of the A6 from its roundabout junction with Shardlow Road and the B5010 (Thulston Roundabout), to its junction with the A5111;
ii. the northbound carriageway of the A5111 from its junction with the A6, to its junction with the southernmost access/egress road leading to and from West Service Road that runs adjacent to the northbound carriageway of the A5111 Raynesway;
iii. the exit slip road leading from the northbound carriageway of the A6, to its roundabout junction with Bellmore Way (Raynesway Park Roundabout); and
iv. the entry slip road leading to the northbound carriageway of the A5111, from Raynesway Park Roundabout; and

(b) prohibit any vehicle from entering or leaving the lengths of the A6 and A5111 described in (a)i and (a)ii above, at the junction with any side road;

(c) allow abnormal load vehicles and any escort vehicles to–
i. enter and proceed on the lengths of the A5111 and the A6 described in (a)i and (a)ii above, in a southernly direction; and ii. enter and proceed on Thulston Roundabout in the opposite direction.

The closures will be in operation for one night only between 19:00 hours and 21:30 hours on Wednesday 29 May 2024. The Order will come into
force on Monday 27 May 2024.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority and ambulance purposes will be exempt from all closures, abnormal load vehicles and any vehicle being used to escort an abnormal load vehicle will be exempt from the carriageway and roundabout closures.

A diversion route via Shardlow Road and Raynesway will be signed.

THE A50 TRUNK ROAD (STENSON FIELDS TO CHELLASTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited (Company No. 9346363) intends to make an Order on the A50 Trunk Road, between Stenson Fields and Chellaston, in the County of Derbyshire, to allow the safe  movement of an abnormal load vehicle to be carried out.

The effect of the Order will be to–
(a) impose a speed limit of 50 miles per hour on the eastbound carriageway of the A50 between points 3500 metres west of the tip of the nosing at its junction with the exit slip road leading to its roundabout junction with Swarkestone Road and Infinity Park Way (Bonnie Prince Roundabout), and 100 metres west of the tip of the nosing of its junction with the entry slip road leading from Bonnie Prince Roundabout; and

(b) close the westbound carriageway of the A50 from its junction with the exit slip road leading to Bonnie Prince Roundabout, to its junction with the entry slip road leading from that roundabout.

The speed restriction and closure will be in operation for one night only between 20:00 hours and 23:59 hours on Wednesday 29 May 2024.

The Order will come into force on Monday 27 May 2024.

Vehicles being used for police, fire and rescue authority, ambulance and special forces purposes will be exempt from the speed restriction and closure, abnormal load vehicles and any vehicle being used to escort an abnormal vehicle load vehicle will be exempt from the closure.

A diversion route via Bonnie Prince Roundabout will be signed.
