Whitehaven and Egremont, Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility Works.

CUMBERLAND COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS IN THE WHITEHAVEN AND EGREMONT AREA)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Cumberland Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of road specified in the attached schedule.

Suitable diversion routes will be indicated on site by the display of relevant traffic signs as and when the temporary closures are in force. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

The Order will come into operation on 3 1 May 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months.

However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for as stated in the schedule and only as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

EXTENT OF RESTRICTIONS AND ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

1. C4016 Hardgates Road, Haile - From 31 May 2024 for approx. 2 days (Ref:TTROC/10544)

From its junction with the A595, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 1.6km.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted section of the C4016 Hardgates Road and the A595 Thornhill.

2. U4032 Brisco Road, Egremont - From 2 June 2024 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTROC/10754)

From its junction with Brisco Mount, extending in a north easterly direction for approx. 730m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of the U4032 Brisco Road, C4017 Wath Brow, A5086 Cleator and the A595.

3. Sandringham Avenue, Hillcrest, Whitehaven - From 3 June 2024 for approx. 1 week (Ref:TTROC/10694)

From a point approx 40m north of its junction with Jubilee Road, extending in a westerly direction for its entire length.

There is no suitable alternative route available for vehicles.

4. U4040 Egremont - From 3 June 2024 for approx. 1 week

(Ref:TTROC/10696)

From its northern junction with the C4016, extending in a southerly direction for approx. 845m.

Alternative Route: via the C4016.

5. B5345 Thornhill - From 3 June 2024 for approx. 1 week

(Ref:TTROC/10755)

From its junction with Low Mill, extending in a north westerly direction for approx. 1.3km.

Alternative Route via the unrestricted sections of the B5345, A5094 and the A595.
