Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Oxford, Walton Well Road Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 06/05/2024 Coming into force: 13/05/2024

This Order is being introduced because of rail brickwork repairs which is anticipated to be completed 20 May 2024. This will operate between 22:00 and 06:00 The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any motor vehicle proceeding in Walton Well Road (no through road). Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for pedestrians, cycles, emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T13146/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Oxford, Footpath Nos.320/4/20 & 320/116/30 Date of Order: 28/05/2024 Coming into force: 03/06/2024

This Order is being introduced because of Construction of a new pedestrian footbridge from Oxpens Meadow to Grandpont Nature Park which is anticipated to be completed on 2 June 2025. This is a 24 hour footpath closure. The effect of the Order is to close temporarily part or whole section of the following sections of footpath:

(1) FP.320/116/30 between 329/49 bollard and Oxpens path intersection with PROW, (i.e. a distance of 180meters from 329/49 bollard)

(2) FP.320/4/20 between Rail Bridge and Gas Works Bridge - a distance of 280 meters from the Gas Works Bridge. Exemptions are included for emergency services, for Works and for pedestrian access to property which is only accessible from the closed sections of footpath.

The alternative route will be signed via Grandpont Nature Park and adjacent to Castle Mill Stream, along footway of the A420, and on existing footpath adjacent to ICE rink. Appropriate signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. (Ref: T13640/AC)
