What is happening?

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Ashtree Road, Cradley Heath) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Ashtree Road at the junction of Halesowen Road. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will be signed via Halesowen Road, Ash Street, Hall Street and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 18/05/2024 effective from 17/05/2024 (7pm - 6am). Purpose – to facilitate access to repair/replace a manhole cover and frame by Customer Solutions Plus on behalf of Severn Trent Water.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Rabone Lane, Smethwick) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Baldwin Street between the junctions of Cornwall Road (southern side) and Rabone Lane (northern side). Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route (southbound) will be signed via Cornwall Road, Downing Street and Bridge Street North. A traffic diversion route (northbound) will be signed via Bridge Street North and Downing Street. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 29/05/2024 effective from 20/05/2024 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access to disconnect gas services from the main located in the carriageway by Cadent Gas Ltd.

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Green Lane, Great Barr) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Green Lane from the junction of Winster Road (southern side) to the gable end of property No.90. Access to any affected frontages will be maintained, but only when safety permits. A traffic diversion route will be signed via Hamstead Road, Broomhill Lane and vice-versa. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to commence and be completed by 20/05/2024 (8am - 6pm). Purpose – to facilitate access for the use of a mobile elevating work platform for telecom works by Ericsson.
