A1 Trunk Road - Prohibition Of Traffic For Horticultural Works
What is happening?
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
THE A1 TRUNK ROAD (JUNCTION 77)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that National Highways Limited has made an Order on the A1 Trunk Road, in the City of Newcastle, to enable horticultural works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Friday 17 May 2024 for 1 night or until completed and will take place between 8pm and 6am.
The effect of the order will be to close the A1 northbound entry slip road at Junction 77 (Kenton Bar Interchange); during which times a suitably signed alternative route will be available.
Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the prohibition (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or vehicles being used in connection with the said works or for winter maintenance or traffic officer purposes).
The Order comes into force on 16 May 2024 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
