TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all vehicular, pedestrian, horse and cycle traffic from that section of the road and footways at Peareth Hall Road from its roundabout with Donvale Road to its junction with Highbury Avenue. The Order is required to enable the installation of a new water main to take place on, in or near the road and footways. The order will come into force on 17th June 2024. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be eighteen months, it is estimated that the works will take four weeks. During the closures all vehicles, pedestrians, horses and cycles will be prohibited from Peareth Hall Road from its roundabout with Donvale Road to its junction with Highbury Avenue (except for vehicles and personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An exemption for emergency services cannot be provided. However, pedestrian access to properties will be maintained throughout. An alternative access will be indicated via the adjacent highway network.
