What is happening?

(TEMPORARY ROAD AND FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic and pedestrian traffic on the following sections of road and footpath in the County of Northumberland.
Road Closure:
U1005 Access Road To Cheviot View from its junction with Blue Row heading in a easterly and then a southerly direction for a length of 166 metres.
Footpath Closure:
Carham Berwick Borough Footpath 029 from outside the front of Number 1 Access Road to Cheviot View heading in a westerly direction for a length of 88 metres.
The Order is to be effective from the 15th May 2024 until the 24th May 2024.
It is expected that the road and footpath will only be closed from the 15th May 2024 until the 17th May 2024 between the hours of 08:00 until 18:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 24th May 2024.
U1005 Access Road To Cheviot View diversion -
The alternative route for vehicular traffic will be via the Access Road To Cheviot View, B6350 Wark Main Road, Blue Row and vice-versa.
Carham Berwick Borough Footpath 029 diversion -
The alternative route for pedestrian traffic will be opposite Castle Cottage heading in an easterly direction to the junction of Blue Row.

The road and footpath closures have been requested by GoFibre to carry out mole ploughing for the installation of fibre cabling. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
