(Prohibition of Waiting) Traffic Regulation Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that, on 2nd May 2024 Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on the 13th May 2024 and its effect is:
To prohibit WAITING AT ANY TIME by vehicles (EXCEPT THOSE DELIVERING OR COLLECTING GOODS OR LOADING AND UNLOADING) ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Lea Road, Lea Bridge
North side
From a point 45.5 metres west of a point opposite the junction with the entrance/exit to High Peak Junction Car Park in an easterly direction for a distance of 250 metres.
South-west and South-east side
From a point 45.5 metres west of the junction with the entrance/exit of the High Peak Junction Car Park in an easterly direction for a distance of 248 metres.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge will also apply.
The following restriction is proposed under Regulations issued by the Secretary of State and contained within The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 (as amended).
TO PROHIBIT STOPPING BY VEHICLES ON BUS STOP CLEARWAY 7AM TO 7PM ON THE FOLLOWING LENGTHS OF ROAD:
Lea Road, Lea Bridge
North-west side
From a point 205.5 metres east of a point opposite the junction with the entrance/exit of the High Peak Junction Car Park for a distance of 15 metres.
South-east side
From a point 202.5 metres east of the junction with the entrance/exit of the High Peak Junction Car Park in an easterly direction for a distance of 15 metres.
A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock, also at Matlock Library, Steep Turnpike, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 3DP during opening hours and on request by emailing Place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk quoting reference Z3394, until 6 weeks after the Order is made until 13th June 2024.
Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the 2nd May 2024 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
