What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(MIDDLETON ROAD, HEYSHAM, LANCASTER CITY)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of Middleton Road, Heysham from a point approximately 10 metres north of the rail bridge, to its junction with the private entrance to Heysham Gold Club and Driving Range.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily between 0800 hours and 1800 hours from Thursday 9th May 2024 until Tuesday 14th May 2024 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Middleton Road – A683 Bay Gateway – Moss Road – Lancaster Road – Downeyfield Road – Middleton Road and vice versa
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out.
The prohibitions will only be operative when indicated on site by the presence of the appropriate traffic signs in accordance with The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
