(AMENDMENT NO.22) ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 7 May 2024 made the abovementioned Orders under sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders, which come into operation on 13 May 2024, will be to introduce Red Route controls, where the stopping of vehicles (other than as specified in paragraph 3 of this Notice) is prohibited at any time in:
(a) The Brook, Chatham (A231), between its junction with Dock Road (A231)
and its junction with Union Street; Union Street, Chatham (A2); and Best
Street, Chatham; and
(b) Corporation Street, Rochester (A2), between its junction with Esplanade
and its junction with Star Hill (A2); Star Hill, Rochester (A2); New Road,
Rochester (A2) at its junction with Star Hill; and City Way, Rochester (A229)
at its junction with Star Hill, and extending up to 20 metres on both sides
of each of the side roads or vehicle entrances opening into those roads and
to remove all existing ‘yellow line’ waiting and loading restrictions in those
lengths of road.
3. Within the lengths referred to in paragraph 2 of this Notice, the following
exemption to the stopping restrictions will be provided: loading only (20
minutes maximum stay) between 10am and 4pm and between 6pm and 6am
(the red route no stopping restriction applies at all other times) in Corporation Street, Rochester (A2), south-west side, opposite Durdles House (approximately 20 metres in length); Star Hill, Rochester (A2), east side, outside Nos. 33 to 39 Star Hill (approximately 20 metres in length).
4. All objections and comments have been duly considered and discussed. The scheme aims to fulfil loading and unloading requirements, whilst preserving the scheme’s objective of reducing traffic congestion on busy routes, improving safety and bus services.
5. Electronic or hard copies of the made Orders and of other documents giving more details particulars of the Orders can be requested via parkingdesign@medway.gov.uk or by writing to the Parking Design team, Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TR or by telephoning during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except for bank and public holidays), until the end of a period of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made.
6. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

NOTICE OF PROPOSAL
Avondale Rd, Bredgar Rd, Chilham Rd, Darland Ave, Doddington Rd, Featherby Rd, Hempstead Rd, Holmside, Ingram Rd, Jubilee Terr, Leyton Ave, Malvern Rd, Prospect Row, Regent Rd, Seaton Rd, Second Ave, Upper Britton Place, Windsor Rd
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council proposes to make the abovementioned Order under sections 1, 2, and 124 of, and Part IV of Schedule 9 to, the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended. The general effect of the amendment Order will be to introduce lengths of double yellow lines (no waiting at any time) except where otherwise stated below, within Gillingham, Medway:
1) Avondale Rd – West side, change the 12.4m single yellow line southwards from the access to No.6 (former printers) to double yellow lines;
2) Bredgar Rd – South-west side, 166m from the junction of Featherby Road
south-eastwards to the entrance to Invicta Business Centre;
3) Chilham Rd – South-west side, 130m single yellow line operating Mon-Fri
8-9am and 3-4pm, from the double yellow lines outside No.2 south-eastwards up to No.34;
4) Darland Ave – (a) East side, 10m north and south of the access road to Nos.
109-145, joining up with (b) West side of the access road to Nos.109-145,
10.8m northwards and 8.8m southwards to the cobbled strips opposite
Nos.129 and 125, (c) East side, 8.1m on the corner opposite Nos.54-56,
(d) East side, 4.2m northwards from the junction of Leyton Avenue;
5) Doddington Rd – North-west side, 3m north-eastwards and 3m southwestwards of the junction with Harrietsham Close, a total length of 9.4m;
6) Featherby Rd – (a) East side, 74m southwards from the junction of Bredgar
Road, (b) West side, 30m southwards from opposite the south-west side of
Bredgar Road, (c) West side, 15m northwards from its west-east section;
7) Hempstead Rd – East side, 18m across the frontage of No.169 (All Saint’s
Church & car park);
8) Holmside – Both sides, 5.6m southwards from the junction of Seaton Road;
9) Ingram Rd – North-west side, (a) 3.5m on the corner by No.78, (b) 5.3m on the corner by No.72 (either side of the access road);
10) Jubilee Terrace – (a) North-west side, 25m between the junction of Cross Street and the west-east section to the rear of Nos.2-24 Cross Street, (b) North-west side, 4.2m outside No.11,
(c) No.11, (d) South-west side, 45m to the rear of Nos.2-24 Cross Street,
(e) North-east side, 20m adjacent to No.11,
(f) North-east side, 21.5m adjacent to No.14;
11) Leyton Ave – North side, 14.6m adjacent the grassed area between the Darland Rd junctions;
12) Malvern Rd – Both sides, 4m southwards from the junction of Seaton Road;
13) Prospect Row - (a) West side, 6.1m northwards from the junction opposite
Nos.11 & 12 and to the parking bay south of the junction opposite No.13
(2.8m), (b) Both sides of the junction opposite Nos.12&13 westwards up to the cobbled strip: 5m north side and 5.8m south side;
14) Regent Rd – (a) North side, from the parking bay outside No.28 eastwards for 9.7m to the dead end, (b) East side, 6.4m across the dead end, (c) South side, from outside No.37 eastwards for 9.2m to the dead end;
15) Seaton Rd – South side, (a) 7.5m westwards and 7.5m eastwards of the junction of Holmside, (b) 7.5m westwards and 7.5m eastwards of the junction of Malvern Road;
16) Second Ave – North-west side, (a) 15.4m across the entrance to Ashburn Mews,
(b) 15.4m across the entrance to Keeley Mews, (c) 15.4m across the entrance to Portree Mews (represents each dropped kerb and 5m either side);
17) Upper Britton Place – (a) East side outside No.3 at the dead end, parking bay operating for ‘E’ permit holders or 1 hour, no return within 2 hours Mon-Sat 8am-10pm, (b) South-west side, extend the single yellow line at the southern dead end to join the new parking bay;
18) Windsor Rd – North side, change 7.5m of the single yellow line to double
yellow lines, east of No.6 Avondale Rd (former printers) to halfway opposite
No.1 Windsor Road.
Any objections or other representations about the proposed Order should be sent in writing by email to TROconsult@medway.gov.uk or by post to “Parking Design Team” at the address specified in the paragraph below by 31 May 2024, stating name, address and grounds for objection or support.
Copies of the Order, plans and of other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be inspected at the front reception, Chatham Library, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent, ME4 4TX during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive except for Bank and public holidays. (BROOKS PLACE, HALLING)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council intend to make an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable water supply works to be carried out -
Brooks Place, Halling - to be closed to all vehicular traffic in Brooks Place at the entrance to the car park. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. No alternative route is available. Access to the car park will be maintained.
This Order will come into force on Monday, 20 May 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Monday, 20 May 2024 and are programmed for completion within five days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(BEACON ROAD, CHATHAM)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Medway Council have made an Order the effect of which will be to impose the following temporary prohibitions or restrictions on traffic to enable services to be connected to a property -
Beacon Road, Chatham - to be closed to all vehicular traffic across the frontage of 49 Beacon Road. Pedestrian traffic will not be affected. An alternative route will be available via Upper Luton Road, Chatham Hill, Luton Road, Luton High Street and Beacon Hill.
This Order will come into force on Tuesday, 14 May 2024 and will be valid for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The works are due to commence on or after Tuesday, 14 May 2024 and are programmed for completion within five days. The Order will be effective only when the appropriate signs are being displayed.

(AMENDMENT NO.17) ORDER 2024
(RAINHAM SOUTH) (PARKING PLACES AND
WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS)
(AMENDMENT NO.8) ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Medway Council on 7 May 2024 made the abovementioned Orders under sections 1, 2, 4 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce Red Route controls, where the stopping of vehicles (other than as specified in paragraph 3 of this Notice) is prohibited at any time, in High Street, Rainham (A2), between its junction with Maidstone Road and No. 249 High Street, Rainham and extending up to 20 metres on both sides of each of the side roads or vehicle entrances opening into those roads, and to remove all existing parking places, loading bays and ‘yellow line’ waiting and loading restrictions in those lengths of road.
3. Within the lengths referred to in paragraph 2 of this Notice, the following
exemptions to the stopping restrictions will be provided:
(a) short stay parking (30 minutes maximum stay, 30 minutes no return) between 8am and 6pm on Mondays to Saturday in High Street, Rainham (A2): (i) north side, outside Nos. 11 to 21 High Street (approximately 37.4 metres in length); and (ii) north side, outside No. 117 High Street (approximately 20.7 metres in length); [Note: There will be no red route controls outside of these times in these two lengths]
(b) loading only (20 minutes maximum stay) between 10am and 4pm and
between 6pm and 8am (the red route no stopping restriction applies at all
other times) in High Street, Rainham (A2), north side, outside Nos. 79/81 High
Street (approximately 8 metres in length);
(c) combined loading only (20 minutes maximum stay) / disabled persons
parking (2 hours maximum stay) ‘at any time’ in High Street, Rainham
(A2): (i) south side, outside Nos. 78 to 82 High Street (approximately 16.5
metres in length); and (ii) north side, outside Nos. 45 to 47a/47b High Street
(approximately 14.3 metres in length); and
(d) disabled persons (blue badge holders) parking ‘at any time’ in High Street,
Rainham (A2) north side, outside No. 117 High Street (approximately 7.4
metres in length); Note: an advisory disabled persons’ parking place is
currently in this location.

This aims to provide suitable facilities to manage loading and unloading requirements more effectively, whilst preserving the scheme’s objective of reducing traffic congestion on busy routes, improving safety and bus services.
