Uxbridge Road - Temporary Road Restrictions For Highway Improvement Works
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING NOTICE OF MAKING OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER FOR PLANNED WORKS AFFECTING: (bus lane only) UXBRIDGE ROAD, SOUTHALL.
Ealing Council intends to make the following temporary traffic order under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
Title of order
This order can be referred to as: Temporary traffic order for planned works - TT 4203 Uxbridge Road (bus lane suspension only), Southall - 2024.
Reason for order
This order is needed to allow for works taking place on or near the road. These works involve London Borough of Ealing carrying out highway improvement works in Uxbridge Road, Southall.
Effect of order
1. The Order will suspend the eastbound bus lane in Uxbridge Road, Southall from property number 483 for 60 metres between 29th April 2024 to 28th June 2024 so that all vehicles can use it.
2. The following temporary restrictions on vehicle movements will take effect from 29th April 2024.
3. Whilst the suspension is in force no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load or unload a vehicle in the bus lane area.
4. The above temporary restrictions and prohibitions will only apply at specified locations where appropriate traffic signs are provided and displayed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual.
5. While the temporary restrictions are in place, displaced vehicles should follow the diversions displayed in place to reach their destinations and comply with any traffic management measures.
6. This Order does not apply to:
(a) anything done at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer (PCSO).
(b) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance.
Date order will come into force. 24th April 2024
Maximum duration of order
This order will expire on 28th October 2025 or, on completion of the works, which is expected to be 28th June 2024, whichever is sooner.
