Sunderland Glass Centre - Temporary Traffic Regulation
What is happening?

(NATIONAL CYCLE ROUTE 7 SUNDERLAND GLASS CENTRE)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
Sunderland City Council gives notice that it intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which is to temporarily prohibit all cycle and pedestrian traffic from the section of cyclepath described in the schedule. The Order is required to allow for maintenance works to the Sunderland Glass Centre. The order will come into force on 6th June 2024. The maximum duration of the closure under the Order will be six months. However, it is anticipated that the works will take approximately nine weeks. All cyclists and pedestrians will be prohibited from the section of cyclepath described in the schedule (except for personnel involved in the works), until the works are completed or at such times and to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the display of traffic signs. An alternative route will be provided.
Schedule National Cycle Route 7 – from a point 10 metres north of the extended north-easterly building line of The Glass Centre, for a distance of 90 metres in a southerly direction.
