THE BOROUGH OF LUTON
(VALE EXTENSION)
(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE)
ORDER 2024

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 7th May 2024 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Order will come into operation on 14th May 2024 for a period of 6 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.

The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to pedestrians the whole length of the footpath known as FP25. Diversion route for those heading south is from the junction with Butterfield Green Road and the Butterfield Green Road spur road head west along the Butterfield Green Road spur for a distance of approximately 730 metres, turn left onto footpath FP22 heading south south west for a distance of approximately 700 metres, turn left onto footpath FP23 heading east south east across Stopsley common for a distance or approximately 650 metres before bearing south east towards Lothair Road for approximately 350 metres, bear left heading north north east for a distance of 200 metres to the intersection with footpath FP25. For those heading north on footpath FP25 the diversion route is reversed.

The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated in the current conditions that the works will be completed over a period as described above. The purpose of the Order is to facilitate works associated with the Luton Vale Cemetery and Crematorium to be carried out. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out. Details of road/footpath closures and diversions can be found at http://www.luton.gov.uk/roadworks
