What is happening?

(A129 London Road, Billericay) (Soap Box Derby Charity Event) (Special Events) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 16 A-C of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, has made the above Order to facilitate the Soap Box Derby Charity Event.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close the A129 London Road, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with the mini roundabout at Sun Street, west for approximately 600 metres to its junction with Western Road/Tye Common Road.
The closure is scheduled to commence on 05 May 2024 for 1 day between the hours of 5:30am until 8.30pm or where appropriate signs are showing, and weather permitting and is required to facilitate the Soap Box Derby Charity Event.
The alternative route will be via High Street, Radford Way, Mountnessing Road and vice versa.
Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure. The Order will come into effect on 05 May 2024 and may continue in force for 3 days unless extended by the Secretary of State.
(Alma Link, Billericay) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Alma Link, Billericay in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with High Street to its junction with Chapel Street a distance of approximately 115m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 20th May 2024 for 5 nights (19:00-23:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2360092 -Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/ or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
Alternative routes are available via:
1. High Street, Chapel Street.
2. Chapel Street, Sun Street, High Street.
The Order will come into effect on 9th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Dunton Road, Basildon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Dunton Road, Basildon in the Borough of Basildon, from a point approximately 50m north west of its junction with Brentwood Road for a distance of approximately 415m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th May 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2361989 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via Dunton Road, Rectory Road, Clock House Road, Botney Hill Road, Billericay Road and vice versa (with access only into Dunton Road).
The Order will come into effect on 9th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Little Wakering Road, Great/Little Wakering) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Little Wakering Road, Great/Little Wakering in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 140m north of the junction with Coronation Close for a distance of approximately 175 in a northerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th May 2024 for 22 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30038857183/ 03569235 - UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works to install & replace overhead lines and poles are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Southend Road, Silchester Corner, Barling Road and vice versa (with access only into Little Wakering Road and Barrow Hall Road).
The Order will come into effect on 9th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Romsey Road, South Benfleet) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Romsey Road, South Benfleet in the Borough of Castle Point, from its junction with London Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a southerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th May 2024 for 40 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN01354633 - Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains renewal works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water. An alternative route is available via Romsey Road, Romsey Drive, Romsey Crescent, Malwood Drive, Malwood Road, Homefields Avenue, London Road, Sadlers Farm Roundabout and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, Borough of Castle Point) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.6) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the Borough of Castle Point as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary "No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping' restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above length of road for the duration of the closure to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction will be in force.
"The Essex County Council (Castle Point Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019" will be temporarily amended to include the temporary 'No Waiting at Any Time' restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above length of road only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force. The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 9th May 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road. (Barrow Hall Road, Little Wakering) (Temporary Introduction of 40 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily introduce a 40mph speed limit in that length of Barrow Hall Road, Little Wakering in the District of Rochford, from a point approximately 175m west of its junction with Little Wakering Road for a distance of approximately 250m in a westerly direction. The temporary speed limit is scheduled to commence on 13th May 2024 for 3 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN014M93837 -Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The temporary speed limit is required for the safety of the public and workforce while disconnect supply works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
The Order came into effect on 25th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Southend Arterial Road, Ramsden Crays) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road, Ramsden Crays in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Southend Arterial Road Slip Road From A127 To Noak Hill Road Eastbound for a distance of approximately 4400m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th May 2024 for 6 nights (21:00 - 05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP201EH2354940 - Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while Highway Maintenance works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via A127, A176, A1235, A132 (East Bound Only) (with access only into Pipps Hall Road and Gardiners Lane North).
The Order came into effect on 25th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
