What is happening?
WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL
(UNDERBARROW ROAD, KENDAL AND A5074 KENDAL ROAD, STORRS)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable utility works to be carried out ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the following sections of road:
1. A5074 Kendal Road, Storrs, from its junction with the B5360, extending in a predominantly easterly direction for approx. 560 m.
Alternative Route for south bound traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Kendal Road (A5074), Royal Square, Crag Brow, Lake Road, New Road, Ellerthwaite Square, Main Road, High Street, A591, A590, Lyth Valley Road and Hyning Brow.
Alternative Route for north west bound traffic: via the unrestricted sections of Kendal Road (A5074), Hyning Brow, Lyth Valley Road, A590, A591, High Street, Victoria Street, Crescent Road, Ellerthwaite Square, New Road, Lake Road, Crag Brow and Royal Square.
Duration: From 21 st May 2024 for approx. 1 day (Ref: TTROW/10264)
2. Underbarrow Road, Kendal, from its junction with Marble Crescent, extending in a predominantly north westerly direction for approx. 760 m.
Alternative Route for west bound traffic: via the unrestricted section of Underbarrow Road (C5048), Greenside, Beast Banks, Allhallows Lane, Lowther Street (A6), New Road (A65), Blackhall Road (A6), Sandes Avenue, Windermere Road (A5284), Crook Road (B5284), Kendal Road, A5074, Totter Bank, Hollin Bank Hill and Blackbeck Brow.
Alternative Route for east bound traffic: via the unrestricted section of Underbarrow Road (C5048), Blackbeck Brow, Hollin Bank Hill, Totter Bank, A5074, Kendal Road, Crook Road (B5284), Windermere Road (A5284), Sandes Avenue, Blackhall Road (A6), Stramongate (U999), New Road (A65), Aynam Road, Nether Bridge, Kirkland (A6), Highgate, Allhallows Lane, Beast Banks and Greenside.

The Order will come into operation on 21st May 2024 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required as detailed above, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
