What is happening?

SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(FOOTPATH B30 AND H03 NORTH OF LEAM
LANE, HEBBURN)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION
ORDER 2023
On 8 November 2023 South Tyneside Council
made an Order under S.14(1) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 the effect will be to
temporarily close to pedestrians a section of
public footpath from grid ref NZ 3202 6259 at the
land situated south of Wollaston Way, Hebburn
and heads in a southerly direction for
approximately 320m to Leam Lane at grid ref NZ
3200 6229.
The Secretary of State for Transport has
approved the continuing in force of the Order
until 31 January 2025 or until the works are
completed, if this is sooner. The Order is
required to ensure public safety for a new
housing development in the area.
An alternative route for pedestrians in relation to
the footpath will be provided to the east of the
existing footpath.
