What is happening?

The Isle of Wight Council's Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders

Notice is hereby given that the Isle of Wight Council in not less than seven days from the appearance of this Notice, under Section 14 (1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the following Orders: -

The Isle of Wight Council (Whitehouse Cross, Porchfield, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2024

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between the Friday 10 May 2024, and Monday 13 May 2024, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Whitehouse Cross, Porchfield, between its junction with Whitehouse Road and its junction with Porchfield Footpath 12A. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Mount Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2024

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between the Monday 13 May 2024, and Wednesday 15 May 2024, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Mount Street, Ryde, between its junction with Arthur Street and its junction with Green Street. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during carriageway repair works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Highwood Lane, Rookley, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 5 2024

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between the Monday 13 May 2024, and Tuesday 14 May 2024, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Highwood Lane, Rookley, between its junction with Blackwater Hollow and its junction with New Road. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Drainage Excavate and Investigate works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Bars Hill, Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2024

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between the Tuesday 14 May 2024, and Thursday 16 May 2024, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Bars Hill, Cowes, between its junction with Bath Road and its junction with The Grove. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Street Furniture Bollard Repair works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Southdown, Chale, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2024

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for one shift between the Wednesday 15 May 2024, and Friday 17 May 2024, or when the works have been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Southdown, Chale, between its junction with Atherfield Road and its junction with Chale Bridleway 23. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during Street Furniture Bollard Repair works.

The Isle of Wight Council (Saunders Way, East Cowes, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2024

The Isle of Wight Council (Medina Way, Newport, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 5 2024

The Isle of Wight Council (Castle Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2024

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that between 0830 and 1530 hours on Thursday 16 May 2024, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Castle Road, between its junctions with Gils Cliff Road and a point 60 metres south-west thereof. The Isle of Wight Council (Clay Lane, Newbridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 6 2024

The Isle of Wight Council (Court Road, Totland, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 2 2024

The Isle of Wight Council (High Street, Freshwater, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2024

The Isle of Wight Council (Peacock Hill, Bembridge, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2024

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Tuesday 14 May 2024 until 1600 hours on Tuesday 21 May 2024, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Peacock Hill, for its entire length. Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for periods between 0500 hours and 1800 hours on Sunday 12 May 2024, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along 1) Common Wood Lane, Bembridge, between its junctions with B3395 Sandown Road and Hillway Road; 2) Mersley Lane, Newchurch, between its junctions with Knighton Lane and the Garlic Farm; 3) The Fairway, Lake between its junctions with Station Approach and Golf Links Road; 4) Golf Links Road, Lake for its entire length; 5) Longwood Lane, Lake, between its junctions with Golf Links Road and Lower Road, Brading; 6) Nunnery Lane, Newport, between its junctions with Whitcombe Road and Watergate Road; 7) Marvel Lane, Newport, for its entire length; 8) Watergate Road, Newport, between its junctions with Nunnery Lane and the entrance of Grange Kennels; 9) Whitcombe Road, Newport, between its junctions with the entrance to the Quarr Group and Froglands; 10) Froglands Lane, Newport, from its junctions with Froglands Farm and Clatterford Shute; 11) Clatterford Shute, Newport, for its entire length; 12) Millers Lane, Newport, from its junction with Clatterford Shute to approximately ten metres northbound; 13) Lynch Lane, Calbourne, between its junctions with Winkle Street and Strawberry Lane. This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Walk the Wight event. Alternative routes will be signposted locally.

The Isle of Wight Council (Various Streets, Isle of Wight) (Temporary One-Way Restriction) Order No 1 2024

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that for periods between 0500 hours and 1800 hours on Sunday 12 May 2024, or when the event is finished, whichever is the sooner, the Isle of Wight Council will introduce a one-way restriction along 1) Alum Bay Old Road, Totland, in a southwest bound direction from a point 30 metres north east of the junction with Alum Bay New Road to its junction with Alum Bay New Road; 2)Bembridge Road, Sandown in

a northeast bound direction from its junction with Yaverland Road, Sandown, to its junction with Bembridge Byway 37. 3) B3395 Sandown Road, Bembridge, in a northeast bound direction from its junction with Bembridge Byway 37 to Its junction with Steyne Cross (junction of Hillway Road and Steyne Road; 3) Hillway Road, Bembridge, in a southwest bound direction from its junction with Steyne Cross to its junction with B3395 Sandown Road; 4) Knighton Lane and Knighton Shute, Newchurch, in an east and north bound direction from its junction with Mersley Lane to its junction with Mersley Down Road; 5) Downend Road, Newport, in a south bound direction from its junction with Burnt House Lane to its junction with A3056 Arreton Street, Arreton; 6) Lime Kiln Shute, Newchurch, in a westbound direction for Its entire length; 7) Newport Shute, Arreton, in a westbound direction for its entire length. Alternative routes will be signposted locally. This order is required in the interests of road safety during the Walk the Wight event.

The Isle of Wight Council (Beachfield Road, Sandown, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2024

The Isle of Wight Council (Littlestairs Slipway, Shanklin, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 4 2024

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 1630 hours on Friday 26 April 2024 until 1630 hours on Friday 31 May 2024, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Littlestairs Slipway, Shanklin, between its junctions with between its junction with The Promenade and Its junction with Sandown and Shanklin Footpath 59. The Isle of Wight Council (Snowdrop Lane, Gatcombe, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 1 2024

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0700 hours on Wednesday 8 May 2024 until 1700 hours on Tuesday 21 May 2024, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Sandrock Road, between its junctions with Old Blackgang Road and Undercliff Drive, during this time the one-way restriction will be revoked along Sandrock Road between its junction with Old Blackgang Road and St Catherines Road. The Isle of Wight Council (Merstone Lane, Godshill, Isle of Wight) (Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic) Order No 8 2024

Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0800 hours on Saturday 11 May 2024 until 1600 hours on Sunday 19 May 2024, or when the works has been completed, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Merstone Lane, between its junctions with Arreton Bridleway 35, Rookley and Arreton Footpath 46, Godshill. The alternative route will be signposted locally. The closure is required for safety during utility works.

Island Roads on behalf of the Isle of Wight Council give notice that between Friday 3 May 2024 and Friday 14th June 2024 the following roads will be closed between either 0600 to 1800 hours or 1800 to 0600 hours for a period of approximately one to 3 days within this period, or when the works have been completed, to enable carriageway maintenance and investigation works to be undertaken. No vehicle or person may use or cause any animal to use the following roads: and that no vehicle is permitted to wait on the following roads or within 50 metres on any adjoining side road where indicated by traffic signs. These works may include carriageway and footway reconstruction, resurfacing works, reflective stud work and lining works. In some cases, it may be necessary to close these sections of roads on more than one occasion within this timeframe. Exact dates, durations and access information will be communicated to affected businesses and residents via letter and on street advanced warning signs before the scheme commences.
