NO RIGHT TURN AND SPEED RESTRICTION) - ORDER EVENTS/2024/
NEWMARKET RACES
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to restrict traffic on the roads listed in schedule 1, 2 and 3 and to impose a Speed Limit along all roads in schedule 4 of this order.
The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the restrictions on any or all of roads listed on race days
The Proposed Order will come into operation on 21st June 2024 and will continue until the Newmarket Races 2024 season races have finished on 24th August 2024. It is anticipated that the race days will be held on 21st, 22nd, 27th, 28th and 29th June. 11th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th July. 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th, 17th, 23rd and 24th August.
Nothing in this Order shall apply so as to prevent the passage of any vehicle being used by any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform or of a Civil Enforcement Officer.

Cambridge to Newmarket Road (E/B Only), Swaffham Bulbeck. Cambridge Road (E/B Only), Dullingham. Cambridge Road (E/B Only), Stetchworth. Swaffham Heath Road (N/B only), Swaffham Bulbeck. Swaffham Heath Road (N/B only), Dullingham. Swaffham Prior Footpath 5 and Stetchworth Footpath 18 (Devils Dyke)
Schedule 2: No Waiting or Loading at Any Time
London Road, Stetchworth. Hall Farm, Stetchworth. Cambridge Road, Stetchworth
Schedule 3: Suspension of Restricted Access No Right/Left Turn
No right turn from July Racecourse access road onto London Road, Stetchworth and vice versa.
Schedule 4: Speed Restriction 40MPH
London Road, Stetchworth. Cambridge Road, Stetchworth. Cambridge Road, Dullingham.
