What is happening?
THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
D3872 South Road, Weybridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 01 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D3872 South Road, Weybridge that extends from the north-western property boundary of “Misterton”, to the south-western property boundary of “South Lodge”. This Traffic Order is required to enable UK Power Networks to carry out utility works, to include installation of underground cabling and/or connection and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 9am and 5pm, within 5 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency services will be maintained at all times by means of road plates. Vehicular access to affected residences and businesses will be maintained outside of working hours; under Section 3 of “the Act”, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period.
Beckingham Road (D4002) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 01 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Beckingham Road (D4002) Guildford as extends from its junction with (A323) Aldershot Road to its junction with (D4002) Grantley Road. Alternative Route: Grantley Road, Weston Road, Parkhurst Road, and (A323) Aldershot Road, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
High Loxley Road (D177) Loxhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024
On 1 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of High Loxley Road (D177) Loxhill which extends from a point 100m north of its junction with the northern arm of the access to “High Loxley Farm” to a point 300m south-east of its junction with the eastern arm of the access to “High Loxley Farm”; and (b) suspend “Surrey County Council High Loxley Road (D177) Loxhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” in its entirety. This Order is required to enable Thames Water to facilitate water connection and/or utility works, which is anticipated to be completed within 4 days, between 8am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times by way of road plates. There is no alternative route possible for this road closure.
Various Roads in Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.6) 2024
On 1 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate resurfacing of carriageway and/or major maintenance works and to allow footway pre-patching and slurry works and/or major maintenance on the length of road specified in part 1 to the Schedule to this Notice, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24-hour period. To facilitate the works on part 1 of the Schedule, the weight limit on C14 Clay Lane shall be suspended.

Various Roads in Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.7) 2024
On 1 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate fine milling concrete works and/or surface dressing and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 3 May 2024. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access for emergency service vehicles to these properties, will be maintained when safe to do so and if necessary via the signed diversion route. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises, including emergency service vehicle access, within the length of roads specified or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.

Burrows Lane (D227) Gomshall Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.1) 2024
On 01 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Burrows Lane (D227) Gomshall that is crossed by the level crossing known as “Burrows Lane Level Crossing” and for a distance of 20 metres on either side; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Burrows Lane (D227) Gomshall Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” in its entirety. Alternative Route: Burrows Lane, Hook Lane, Sandy Lane, Shere Heath Road, Park Road, New Road, (A248) Sherbourne, (A25) Shere Road, and Queen Street, or this route in reverse. The Order is required to facilitate signal and telecom maintenance and renewal of rail works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to take place over two sperate dates; (1) on 15 May 2024 for a period of 3 nights between the hours of 10pm and 6am and (2) on 17 June 2024 for a period of 5 nights between the hours of 10pm and 6am during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 15 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. No sole access is affected by this closure.
Summers Lane (D96) Hurtmore Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Summers Lane (D96) Hurtmore which extends from its junction with Hurtmore Road (C23) to the northeastern property boundary line of “Henley House”. Alternative Route – Priorsfield Road (D96) and Hurtmore Road (C23) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 01 days, between 8:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 24 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
Little London (D222) Albury Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Little London (D222) Albury as extends from its junction with (D222) Brook Lane to its junction with (D222) Park Road; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council D222 Little London and D222 Brook Lane, Albury Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” insofar as it affects the length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: Park Road, Brook Hill, and Brook Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate installation of new water connection works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Sandy Lane (D6851) Cobham. Alternative Route: (1) (D6858) Miles Lane, (C157) Fairmile Lane, (A307) Portsmouth Road, (A307) High Street, (A244) Church Street, (A3009) Esher Green, (A307) High Street, (A244) Claremont Lane, and (A244) Copsem Lane; and (2) (A244) Copsem Lane, (A244) Claremont Lane, (A307) High Street, (A307) Portsmouth Road, (C157) Fairmile Lane, and (D6858) Miles Lane. This Order is required to facilitate utility works for, or on behalf of Blade Traffic Management. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 2.30pm within 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Markenfield Road (D4005) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Markenfield Road (D4005) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4005) Nettles Terrace to its junction with (A322) Woodbridge Road; and (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council Markenfield Road (D4005) Guildford Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affects the length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: (1) Markenfield Road, (A320) Stoke Road, (A246) York Road, (A322) Woodbridge Road, and at the (A322) Woodbridge Roundabout take third exit back onto (A322) Woodbridge Road; (2) Nettles Terrace, Dapdune Road, (A322) Woodbridge Road, and at the (A322) Woodbridge Roundabout take third exit back onto (A322) Woodbridge Road. This Order is required to facilitate water utility works for, or on behalf of Talboys Utility Services (Oxford). These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8.30am and 2pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Feathercombe Lane, Godalming. This Order is required to facilitate installation of new electrical connection works for, or on behalf of SSEN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 7 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 28 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. There is no alternative route for this closure.
Pitch Place (C29) Thursley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to:- (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Pitch Place (C29) Thursley which extends from its junction with Sailors Lane to its junction with Pitch Place Lane; (b) suspend “Various Roads in the Borough of Waverley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order No.1 2023” insofar as it relates to the entire length of Pitch Place only. This Order is required to enable South East Water to carry out water works and/or booster pump maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 21 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.
Access to premises within the affected length of road will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained via the diversion route. Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of A283 Cherry Tree Road Milford which extends from its junction with A3100 Portsmouth Road to its junction with Cherry Tree Roundabout. This Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to facilitate carriageway treatment works and/or major maintenance works, which is anticipated to be completed as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 20 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.

Then recommencing 240 metres to the south-west (Grid Ref. 510394 155092), in a south-south-westerly direction from the junction of upgraded Bridleway 548 (Effingham) and Footpath 548 (Effingham) for 791 metres to its junction with Bridleway 131 (Effingham) (Grid ref. 510053 154491). The total distance is 845 metres with a width of 3 metres.
Upgrading public footpath 548 (Effingham) from its junction with Bridleway 604 and Footpath 114 (Grid ref. 510565 155252) and proceeding in a south-south-westerly direction to its junction with Bridleway 604 (Effingham) and Footpath 548 (Effingham) (Grid Ref. 510394 155092) to bridleway status. Applicants are requested to state the grounds on which it is made and to which order (1 or 2) it refers. If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or to any part of it, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Council instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the authority has by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order (or that part of the Order). Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham) and Public Bridleway 88 (Warlingham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024
On 19 April 2024 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham) from Point A (Grid ref: 535076 158863) approximately 197 metres in a North Westerly direction to point B (Grid ref: 534928 158988) shown as a solid line on plan no 3/1/635/H8.
And
To prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Bridleway 88 (Warlingham) from Point A (Grid ref: 535076 158863) approximately 174 metres in a South Westerly direction to point C (Grid ref 534917 158788) shown as a solid line on plan no 3/1/635/H8.
The Order is necessary in order to/on the grounds of public safety due to housing development.
The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 22 April 2024 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from point B will be to follow Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham) for 542 metres first South Westerly, then North Westerly to Tithepit Shaw Lane, then head North for 332 metres before following the road round and heading East for 391 metres to Limpsfield Road (B269). Then head South East for 589 metres and join Public Bridleway 88 Warlingham heading South West for 219 metres to point A.
The alternative route from Point C will be to follow Public Bridleway 88 (Warlingham) in a generally North Westerly direction for 221 metres to Tithepit Shaw Lane, then head North West for 224 metres before heading North for 234 metres to the junction of Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham. The rest of the alternative route is the same as described above.
‘The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 52 (Warlingham) and Public Bridleway 88 (Warlingham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024’ will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
