NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF A MODIFICATION ORDER
SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981
The Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the County of Lancashire
THE LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
ADDITION OF FOOTPATHS THROUGH FARINGTON HALL WOOD, LEYLAND DEFINITIVE MAP MODIFICATION ORDER 2022
On the 15TH Day of January 2024 Lancashire County Council confirmed the above Order.
The effect of the Order as confirmed is to modify the Definitive Map and Statement of Public Rights of Way for the area, by adding;
1. A Footpath from the northern end of Hall Lane (U5460) also recorded as 7-1-FP 35 just south of the Leyland/Farington parish boundary through wooden kissing gate and continuing in a generally easterly north easterly and then south easterly direction through Farington Hall Wood to the rear of houses on Summerfield and Bluebell Wood to cross a small stream to an unmarked point at the junction with an area of the wood managed as public open space; a total distance of 160 metres and having a 2 metre width.
2. A Footpath from a point at the northern end of Bluebell Wood (U50743) across a grassed area for 5 metres to a wooden kissing gate and then east north east descending a slope into Farington Hall Wood to meet the footpath described above; a total distance of 25 metres and having a 2 metre width.

The Order took effect on the 15 January 2024, but if a person aggrieved by the Order desires to question the validity on the grounds that it is not within the powers of Section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, or that any of the requirements of Schedule 15 to the Act have not been complied with in relation to the Order, he may, under Paragraph 11 of Schedule 15 to the Act, within 42 days from the date of publication of this Notice, make an application for the purpose to the High Court.
