What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HOGHTON LANE AND METHUEN DRIVE, WALTON-LE-DALE, SOUTH RIBBLE BOROUGH)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following lengths of highway, in the borough of South Ribble;
i. Hoghton Lane, Walton Le Dale from its junction with Methuen Avenue, for its entire length.
ii. Methuen Drive, Walton Le Dale from its junction with Hoghton Lane, for a distance of 102 metres, in a northerly direction.
The roads specified in article 1 will not be closed at the same time.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily, from 0800 hours to 1800 hours from Friday 3rd May 2024 until Monday 13th May 2024 or until completion of the works within this period. The road may be opened earlier each day dependent of works progress at that given time.
4. Vehicle access for residents will be maintained throughout the closure. Residents may encounter slight delays, operatives will endeavour to clear the way as soon as possible.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is not available.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow resurfacing works to be carried out.
