Barnet, Temporary Prohibitions & Speed Restrictions Due To Water Works

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

The A41 And A1 Gla Roads (Watford Way And Great North Way, London Borough Of Barnet) (Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic And 30 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2024

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it intends to make the above-named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2.

2. The purpose of the Order is to enable Morrisons Water Services new water connection works on the A1 Great North Way.

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

(1) proceeding on the northern arm of Five Ways Corner Roundabout connecting the northbound carriageway of the A41 Watford Way with the south-eastbound carriageway of the A1 Great North Way and the southbound carriageway of the A41 Watford Way;

(2) exceeding a speed of 30 MPH on the south-eastbound carriageway of Great North Way between the extended common boundary of No. 19 and 21 Great North Way and a point 90 metres east of the extended eastern building line of No. 77 Great North Way.

The Order will be effective from 8:00 AM on 18th May 2024 until 6:00 PM on 21st May 2024, or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner. The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

4. The prohibitions will not apply to any vehicle being used for the purposes of those works, or for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes, or anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London.

5. At such times as the prohibition is in force an alternative route will be indicated by traffic signs: via Watford Way northbound and then return southbound from Mill Hill Circus Roundabout and then onto normal route of traffic.
