What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Langdale Gardens, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Langdale Gardens, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 100m south east of its junction Princes Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north easterly direction. 
The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WFGK0K1C – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.
No alternative route available.
The Order will come into effect on 9th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Parsonage Lane, Howe Street) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Parsonage Lane, Howe Street in the City of Chelmsford, from a point approximately 45m north west of its junction of Hyde Hall Lane to its junction with Lucks Lane a distance of approximately 240m. 
The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231010594 – GMT). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while tree maintenance works are undertaken by GMT.
An alternative route is available via Chatham Hall Lane, Braintree Road, Main Road, Chelmsford Road, The Village, Main Road, Parsonage Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Springfield Road/Navigation Road, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Springfield Road, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Tesco Service Road for a distance of approximately 100m in a north easterly direction.
2. To temporarily close that length of Navigation Road, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Springfield Road to its junction with Wharf Road a distance of approximately 85m.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 27th May 2024 for 21 nights (20:00 - 06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231010233/4 – GTM). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. 
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while junction construction works are undertaken by GTM.

An alternative route is available via:
1. Springfield Road, Springfield Road Roundabout, Springfield Road, Cuton Roundabout, Eastern Approach, Chelmer Road, Beeleigh Link Roundabout, Chelmer Road, Chelmer Road Roundabout, Chelmer Road, Army and Navy Roundabout, Parkway, Parkway Roundabout Baddow Road, High Bridge Road, Kings Meadow Roundabout and Springfield Road or Springfield Road, Kings Meadow Roundabout, High Bridge Road, Parkway Roundabout Baddow Road, Parkway, Army and Navy Roundabout, Chelmer Road, Chelmer Road Roundabout, Chelmer Road, Beeleigh Link Roundabout, Chelmer Road, Northbound Slip From Chelmer Road To Springfield Road, Springfield Road Roundabout and Springfield Road.

2. Navigation Road, Byron Road, Springfield Park Lane, Sandford Road and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 9th May 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, City of Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.9) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on those lengths of roads specified in the schedule for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.
“The Essex County Council (Chelmsford City) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) 
and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019” will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction and suspend any existing parking and waiting restrictions on the above lengths of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Order and Amendments to that Order shall remain in force.
The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 9th May 2024, exact dates will be specified on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase of works and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the road.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of road in the City of Chelmsford as specified in the schedule to this Order.
2. A temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on that length of road specified in the schedule. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping restriction will be in force.

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Arbour Lane, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Lionfield Terrace for a distance of approximately 40m in a south easterly direction and from a point approximately 80m north west of its junction with Springfield Lane for a distance of approximately 25m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 13th May 2024 for 2 days, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WF5RPT5VDIGJT1 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while ducting and blockage clearance works are undertaken by Openreach.
An alternative route is available via Arbour Lane, Church Lane, Springfield Green, Springfield Road and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 25th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(South Street & Hatchfields, Chelmsford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of South Street, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Duffreis Close for a distance of approximately 45m in a north easterly direction and Hatchfields, Chelmsford in the City of Chelmsford from its junction with South Street for a distance of approximately 20m in a easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC00815FEBEASBM298 – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new service works are undertaken by Openreach.

Alternative routes are available via
1. South Street, The Village, Chelmsford Road, Main Road, Braintree Road, Essex Regiment Way, Chelmer Valley Road, Rectory Lane, Parkway, Rainsford Road, Roxwell Road, Chignal Road, Breeds Road and vice versa.
2. Hatchfields, Chelmsford Road, The Village, South Street and vice versa.
The Order came into effect on 25th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Wyses Road, Highwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Wyses Road, Highwood in the City of Chelmsford, from its junction with Ongar Road for a distance of approximately 20m in a south easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 17th May 2024 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008OGEA12526285A – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while poling works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Wyses Road, Ongar Road and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 25th April 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
