THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF CALDERDALE

(ON-STREET WAITING, LOADING AND PARKING)

(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2024 (VARIATION NO.1) ORDER 2024 (PART A)

NOTICE is hereby given that on 1 May 2024 the Borough Council of Calderdale (‘the Council’) in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 made the above Order in part (“Part A”), the effects of which are the introduction of the following restrictions on lengths of roads in Halifax:

No Waiting at Any Time and No Loading Mon-Sat 7.00am-9.30am and 4.00pm-6.00pm:

•  Huddersfield Rd (A629) (east side between its junctions with Jubilee Rd and Exley Bank)

•  Jubilee Rd (north west side from its junction with Salterhebble Hill for 118.5m north easterly; south east side from its junction with Huddersfield Rd for 83.5m north easterly; south east side from a point 118m north east of its junction with Huddersfield Rd for 18m north easterly)

•  Salterhebble Hill (A629) (east side from its junction with Jubilee Rd for 58m northerly)

No Waiting at Any Time:

•  Exley Bank (west side from its junction with Huddersfield Rd for 14m southerly; east side from its junction with Huddersfield Rd for 25m southerly)

The Council defers making the remainder of the Order until a later date. The outstanding proposals are:

On-Street Resident Permit Holders Parking Place at All Times

•  Jubilee Rd (south east side from a point 83.5m east of its junction with Huddersfield Rd for 34.5m north easterly)

The Order was proposed on 29th June 2023 as the Borough Council of Calderdale (Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Halifax) (Consolidation) Order 2015 (Variation No. *) Order 20**. Since then, the Borough Council of Calderdale (Waiting and Loading and Parking Places) (Halifax) (Consolidation) Order 2015 has been revoked and consolidated into the Borough Council of Calderdale (On-Street Waiting, Loading and Parking) Consolidation Order 2024. The latter order consolidated and presented all on-street waiting, loading and parking restrictions in Calderdale hitherto 15 March 2024 on maps rather than in a text-based format. Accordingly, the name of the Order has changed from that publicised as has the format in which its restrictions are presented. In all other respects such restrictions are the same as originally proposed on 29th June 2023. Part A will come into force on 13th May 2024.

Documents giving more detailed particulars of Part A, including the statement of reasons and plans showing the affected roads, are available for inspection at Halifax Central Library, Halifax, HX1 1QG, from 10.00 am to 5.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays and 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Saturdays. Alternatively copies of the documents can be viewed on the Council’s website at https://new.calderdale.gov.uk/streets-and-transport/transport-initiatives/tro/current-tro/a629-corridor-improvements or can be made available on request via email a629phase1btro@ calderdale.gov.uk or telephone 01422 288001 or 288002. If you wish to question the validity of Part A or of any of the provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to Part A, you may within 6 weeks from the date on which Part A was made (i.e. 1 May 2024) apply to the High Court for this purpose.

Dated the 2nd day of May 2024

I R Hughes

Head of Legal & Democratic Services On behalf of: The Borough Council of Calderdale, Town Hall, Halifax, HX1 1 UJ
