What is happening?

Hertfordshire County Council:

(Temporary Closing Of Coopers Green Lane, St Albans/Hitchin) Order 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Coopers Green Lane, St Albans/Hatfield from its junction with the Oaklands Lane roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the B653 Brocket Road/ B197 Great North Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 5371m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Oaklands Lane, A1057 (Hatfield Road/St Albans Road West), A1001 Comet Way, A6129 Stanborough Road and B653 Stanborough Road. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 20 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Oaklands Lane, Smallford) Order 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Oaklands Lane, Smallford from its northernmost junction with the service road fronting Nos.54-80 Oaklands Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 130m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Oaklands Lane, Sandpit Lane, Beechwood Avenue, A1057 Hatfield Road and Oaklands Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 20 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of A5183 Watling Street, Radlett) Order 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A5183 Watling Street, Radlett from its junction with B462 Aldenham Road north westwards for a distance of approximately 40m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via A5183 (Watling Street/Cobden Hill/ Watling Street/Elstree Hill North/High Street/Elstree Hill South), A41 (North Western Avenue (Watford Bypass)/Tylers Way/Elton Way/North Western Avenue/Otterspool Way/North Western Avenue Colne Way/North Western Avenue), A412 St Albans Road, A405 (North Orbital Road/St Albans Road/North Orbital Road) and A5183 (Watling Street/Park Street/Frogmore/Radlett Road/Watling Street) or via A5183 (Watling Street/Radlett Road/Frogmore/Park Street/ Watling Street), A405 (North Orbital Road/St Albans Road/North Orbital Road), A412 St Albans Road, A41 (North Western Avenue/ North Western Avenue Colne Way/Otterspool Way/Elton Way/ Tylers Way/North Western Avenue (Watford Bypass) and A5183 (Elstree Hill South/High Street/Elstree Hill North/Watling Street/ Cobden Hill/Watling Street).

The Order is needed because water service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of Miswell Lane, Tring) Order 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Miswell Lane, Tring from its junction with B488 Icknield Way south eastwards for a distance of approximately 105m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B488 Icknield Way, B4635 (Aylesbury Road/Western Road) and Miswell Lane.

The Order is needed because water service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 7 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(Temporary Closing Of St Michael Rural Public Footpath No.017 And St Albans City Public Footpath No.090) Order 2024

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footpath ("the Footpaths"):-

1. that length of St Michael Rural Public Footpath No.017, from its junction with New Greens Avenue south westwards to its junction with St Albans City Public Footpath No.090, a distance of approximately 220m.

An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the west side of New Greens Avenue, the footway situated on the north side of Carnegie Road, the footway situated on the east and north sides of Cavan Drive, the footway situated on the east side of High Oaks, the footway situated on the south side of Sparrowswick Ride and St Albans City Public Footpath No.090.

2. that length of St Albans City Public Footpath No.090, from its junction with St Michael Rural Public Footpath No.017 south eastwards to its junction with Cavan Drive, a distance of approximately 37m.

An alternative route will be via St Albans City Public Footpath No.090, the footway situated on the south side of Sparrowswick Ride, the footway situated on the east side of High Oaks and the footway situated on the north side of Cavan Drive. The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 6 May 2024 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.

The Hertfordshire (High Street And St Albans Road, Redbourn) (40 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2024

The Hertfordshire (St Albans Road And Redbourn Road, Redbourn) (50 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2024

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council in order to improve road safety proposes under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to introduce new 40 and 50 mph speed limit restrictions on parts of High Street, St Albans Road and Redbourn Road, Redbourn as specified in the Schedules to this Notice. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the proposals may be viewed from 2 May 2024 during office hours, at Main Reception, Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall, Pegs Lane, Hertford, or on-line at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/trafficorders by selecting St Albans and looking at Ref: SA00524. SCHEDULE 1: 40 mph speed limit restriction - those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and accompanying plan - Parts of High Street and St Albans Road.

SCHEDULE 2: 50 mph speed limit restriction - those sections of road listed below and as set out in the Order and accompanying plan - Parts of St Albans Road and Redbourn Road.
