Wirksworth Road - Temporary Road Closure For Carriageway & Drainage Repairs
What is happening?

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE B5023 WIRKSWORTH ROAD, COWERS LANE, BELPER
WHEN: 13 May to 29 May 2024
WHERE: B5023 Wirksworth Road, Cowers Lane, Belper from its Jct. with Calladine Lane to its Jct. with A517, Ashbourne Road.
REASON: To facilitate carriageway and drainage repairs.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: FOR HGVs (Vehicles over 4m / 13ft): B5023 Wirksworth Rd, Broadway; A6 Derby Rd, Town St, Milford Rd, Bridge St, Matlock Rd, Derby Rd; B5036 The Hill, Cromford Hill; B5023 Harrison Dr, Warmbrook, Derby Rd, Wirksworth Rd and vice versa.
FOR LIGHT VEHICLES (Vehicles below 4m/ 13ft): A517 Ashbourne Rd, Bridge Hill, Bridge Foot; A6 Matlock Rd, Derby Rd; B5036 The Hill, Cromford Hill; B5023 Harrison Dr, Warmbrook, Derby Rd, Wirksworth Rd and vice versa.
Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of road. The road will re- open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised. Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused while work takes place.

The County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.
