Byers Lane (C71) South Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024

On 01 May 2024 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Byers Lane (C71) South Godstone and; b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Byers Lane (C71) South Godstone Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023” in its entirety. Alternative Route – Byers Lane (C71), Eastbourne Road (A22), West Park Road (B2028), Bones Lane (C66), Croydon Barn Lane (C66), Church Road (C71) and Whitewood Lane (C71) or the same route in reverse. The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 8 days, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 6 May 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
