PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC
TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 AS AMENDED BY THE ROAD
TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991
NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Doncaster Council have made an Order
under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended by the Road
Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 because works are being or proposed to
be executed on or near the roads and the effect will be to prohibit any vehicle from
proceeding in those lengths of Queen Street and Orchard Street at Thorne in the
City of Doncaster District as described in the Schedule to this notice on the dates
and times referred to in the said Schedule
Reason for closure: To ensure the safety of the public and the workforce whilst works
to renew water mains are undertaken.
NOTICE is also given that the alternative route for vehicles affected by the Order is
as described in the Schedule to this notice.

The Order will continue in force up to and including the 30th day of June 2024 or
until the works which it is proposed to carry out in or near the said roads have been
completed, whichever is the earlier.
SCHEDULE

Locations
1) Queen Street, Thorne from its junction with Orchard Street for a distance of 15
meters in a north westerly direction.
2) Orchard Street, Thorne from its junction with Queen Street in a south westerly
direction for a distance of 80 meters.
Dates and Times
On or after 00:00hrs 7th May 2024 until 23:59hrs 31st May 2024.
In the event of engineering difficulties and/or adverse weather conditions,
the closure may extend beyond this date although all closures to be completed by
the 30th June 2024.
Diversion Routes
1) The Green, King Street, Fieldside, Browns Lane, Queen Street.
2) King Street, Fieldside, Pinfold Lane, Queen Street, Lock Lane, Union Road
and vice versa.
