What is happening?

NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER
HIGHWAYS ACT 1980
SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL
DIVERSION OF PUBLIC FOOTPATH SHE\565 BETWEEN STATION ROAD AND BRIDBY STREET, WOODHOUSE, SHEFFIELD 13

On 2 May 2024, Sheffield City Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert:

A section of the footpath numbered SHE\565 with a recorded width of 1.8 metres, shown as a solid black line on the Order Map, commencing at the southern footway of Station Road at a point 333 metres east of the junction with Market Street, at map reference point 442532:384971 and heading in a generally southeasterly direction for 115 metres to a point at map reference 442564:384871, then heading in a generally south westerly direction for 54 metres to a point at map reference 442522:384831.

The aforementioned path will be diverted to:
A section of footpath with a width of 2.0 metres, shown as a broken black line on the Order plan, commencing at the southern footway of Station Road, 268 metres from its junction with Market Street at map reference 442454:384914, heading in a generally southeasterly direction for 110 metres to a point at 442522:384831.

A copy of the Order and the Order Map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the Moorfoot Building, Sheffield, S1 4PL, from 8.45 a.m. to 4.45 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays. The Order comes into force on 2 May 2024, but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 2 May 2024, make an application to the High Court.
