What is happening?
Notice of Making the Borough Council of Worthing (Off- Street Parking Places) (Consolidation Order) 2007. (Amendment No. 10) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that Worthing Borough Council made on 25th April 2024 The Borough Council of Worthing (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidation Order) 2007. (Amendment No. 10) Order 2024. The Order will come into force on 23rd May 2024.
The Effect of the Order
The Amendment shall have the effect:
To include an area named The Civic Quarter Multi-Storey Car Park, Worthing which will be a pay and display car park.
The car park will be chargeable 24 hours per day, seven days a week including Sundays and Bank holidays, charges will apply to all users including those displaying a disabled person’s badge. Monday to Saturday (Day tariff applies between 6am to 10pm): up to 1 hour £1.40, up to 2 hours £2.80, Up to 3 hours £4.20, Up to 4 hours £5.60, Up to 5 hours £7.00, All day £11.80 (6am to 10pm). Sunday charges (Day tariff applies between 6am to 10pm): Up to 1 hour £1.10, Up to 2 hours £2.10, Up to 3 hours £3.20, Up to 4 hours £4.20, Up to 5 hours and All day (6am to 10pm) £5.40. Night tariff Monday to Sunday (10pm to 6am) Up to 1 hour £1.10, Up to 2 hours £2.10, Up to 3 hours and maximum charge £3.20
To add a definition of car club, car club permit and car club bays to the order
To add a definition of electric vehicle and electric vehicle charging points, electric vehicle bays to the order
To add definitions of loading bay, and ambulance bay to the order
To update the methods of payment for parking
To update the definition of Council Pool Cars and Council Pool Car Permit
To add definitions of Permit, NHS Staff and NHS Permit, South Downs Leisure Trust and SDLT Staff Permit
A copy of the Amended Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be inspected during normal office hours at Portland House, Richmond Road, Worthing, BN11 1HS and details are also available on the Council’s website.
If any person wishes to question the validity of the order or any provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or any instrument made under the Act has not been complied with, that person may within six weeks of the 25th April 2024 apply for that purpose to the High Court.
