What is happening?
SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(Public Footpath LWB/14/20, Hambrook) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Public Footpath LWB/14/20. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon retaining wall works. The order became operative from 7 May 2024 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks duration. Alternative route: LWB/14/10, Hambrook Lane, Old Gloucester Road and vice versa
(The Naite and Hill Lane, Oldbury-on-Severn) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon carriageway reconstruction works. The order became operative from 6 May 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 weeks duration. Schedule: The Naite – from Shepperdine Road south westwards for 75; Hill Lane – from Shepperdine Road north eastwards for 75m. Alternative route: The Naite (part unaffected), Foss Lane, Oldbury Lane, Butt Lane, Gloucester Road, Rockhampton Road, Thornbury Road, Hill Road, Nupdown Road, Hill Lane (part unaffected) and vice versa
(Harcombe Hill, Winterbourne Down) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Harcombe Hill which extends from Station Road southwards for 50m. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon duct laying works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 7 May 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration. Alternative route: Station Road, Down Road, Harcombe Hill (parts unaffected) and vice versa
(Hambrook Lane, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Hambrook Lane which extends from Curtis Lane to Rosedown Drive. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with new water connection works. The order will be operative from 28 May 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration. Alternative route: Rosedown Drive, Great Stoke Way, Winterbourne Road, Hatchet Road, Church Road and vice versa.
(Stephens Drive, Barrs Court) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Stephens Drive which extends from Swaish Drive to Causley Drive. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with high voltage cabling works. The order will be operative from 27 May 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 5 days duration. Alternative route: Parkwall Road, Woodward Drive, Marsham Way, Craven Way and vice versa
(Various Roads, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) (Temporary Suspension of One Way Traffic) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:- a) close, temporarily, to vehicles, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice; and b) suspend, temporarily, when the signs are covered, the one way traffic working, to any vehicle proceeding in the length of road specified in Schedule 2 to this notice, to facilitate the diversion route. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon resurfacing works. The order will be operative from 1 June 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The measures however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 nights duration, between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
SCHEDULE 1 Cecil Road – from Blackhorse Road to South Road Blackhorse Road – from Cecil Road northwards for 50m and southwards for 50m.
SCHEDULE 2 South Road – from Cecil Road to West Street Alternative routes:
1. Through traffic (including HGVs) – A420, A4174, A4174 Marsham Way, A431, A420 (westbound), Lawrence Hill Roundabout, A420 (eastbound);
2. For residents but not through traffic and unsuitable for HGVs – Blackhorse Road (part unaffected), Forest Road, B4046 Hanham Road; 3. For residents but not through traffic and unsuitable for HGVs – South Road (one way suspended), West Street
(Village Road, Littleton upon Severn) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Village Road which extends from Central Farm Lane to Rushen Lane. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole replacement works on or adjacent to the highway.
The order will be operative from 27 May 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Alternative route: Village Road (parts unaffected), Field Lane, The Green and vice versa
(Bridleways LFC/34/40 and LFC/34/30, Winterbourne) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of bridleway specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new development installation of rising main and storage tanks. The order will be operative from 28 May 2024 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 6 months duration. Schedule: LFC/34/40 – the entire length; LFC/34/30 – the entire length Alternative route: LFC/32/40, LFC/33/50 and vice versa
(Orchard Road, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Orchard Road which extends from a point 45m east of Bellevue Road eastwards for 25m. This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon lead replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 28 May 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration. Alternative route: Orchard Road (parts unaffected), Hollow Road, High Street, Woodstock Road and vice versa
