(ABINGDON AIR AND COUNTRY SHOW) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MEASURES) ORDER 2024 Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Date of Order: 13 May In force: 18 May This order is being introduced in the interest of public safety for the Abingdon Air and Country Show to be held on Saturday 18 May at Dalton Barracks (Abingdon Airfield) and is organised by Neil Porter Neilsevent72@gmail.com
The effect of the order is to temporarily close public highways, rights of way and to implement No Waiting/No Loading/ No Unloading on 18 May as follows:
between 7:00am and 6:00pm:
a) Honeybottom Lane, from Church Lane junction to approximately 300 metres west of the junction with the B4017;
b) Green Lane public byway, between Honeybottom Lane and Church Lane.
and between 2:00pm and 4.30pm:
c) Blackhorse Lane for its entire length from Cothill to Gozzards Ford;
c) Barrow Road from junction of Faringdon Road to junction of road opposite the RAF 612VGS Gate and Farm;
Exemptions are included for emergency services, for property access, and for VIP/Exhibitors/Staff who will be allowed access to enter the airfield northwest gate.
The alternative routes for through traffic are as follows: Diversion for Honeybottom Lane: via Lamborough Hill, Besselsleigh Road, Lashford Lane, Church Lane; Diversion for Green Lane Byway: via Honeybottom Lane and Church Lane; Diversion for Blackhorse Lane: via Cothill Road & Faringdon Road. Diversion for Barrow Road: Faringdon Road, Marcham Road, Spring Road, Faringdon Road. (Ref: S24-008)
