ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The East Sussex (U7588 Street End Lane, Broad Oak, Heathfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024 No.2

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Street End Lane – from the junction with A265 Burwash Road to the junction with U7588 Uplands Park.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7588 Uplands Park – A265 Burwash Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 10 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 10 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U5274 Elphick Road, Newhaven) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Elphick Road – from the junction with P5614 Robinson Road to no. 86. A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U5274 Elphick Road, Ship Street – C7 Lewes Road – U5274 Elphick Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 and 17 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7403 Etchingwood Lane, Buxted/Framfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Etchingwood Lane – from the junction with U7504 Framfield Road to the junction with U7864 Nan Tucks Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7864 Nan Tucks Lane – U7863 Orchard Lane – U7504 Framfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 15 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C9 Golf Club Lane, Piltdown) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Golf Club Lane – from the junction with C10 Shortbridge Road to The Old Post.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C9 Golf Club Lane – A272 Batts Bridge Road – C206 Lodge Lane – C10 Shortbridge Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 16 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 16 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (A272 Budletts Lane, Uckfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Budletts Lane – from the junction with A272 London Road to the junction with U7118 Five Ash Down.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7118 Five Ash Down – A26 Mill Pond Road – A272 London Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 14 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 14 and 16 May 2024, depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C321 Lane End Common/Fletching Lane, North Chailey/ Newick)(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Lane End Common/Fletching Lane – from the junction with A275 East Grinstead Road to the junction with C321 Newick Hill.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C321 Newick Hill – A272 Western Road, Station Road – A275 East Grinstead Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 15 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 15 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7044 Langtye Lane, Ripe) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Langtye Lane – from the junction with C13 Mill Lane to the junction with C207 The Street.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C13 Mill Lane – C331 The Street, Church Lane – C207 Poundfield Lane, Langtye Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 13 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs on 13 and 14 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7697 Lower Road, Herstmonceux) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Lower Road – from the junction with U7123 Butlers Lane to the junction with U7075 New Bridge Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7697 Lower Road – U7075 Cricketing Lane – A271 Hailsham Road, Garden Street – U7696 Chapel Row, Church Road – U7697 Lower Road and vice versa. The Order commences 15 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 15 and 20 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (B2102 Hammonds Green, Framfield) (Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily restrict all traffic using the following lengths of road to a speed not exceeding 30 mph:-

Temporary 30 mph Speed Limit

Hammonds Green – from the junction with U7403 Etchingwood Lane to the Hare & Hounds Public House.

The Order commences 29 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated the speed restriction will be in place on 29 & 30 April 2024.

The East Sussex (U5471 Sutton Croft Lane, Seaford) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Sutton Croft Lane – from the junction with U5472 Croft Lane to the Sutton Croft Lane Car Park.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible.

The Order commences 1 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 1 and 3 May 2024, depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (C210 Arlington Road West, Hailsham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Arlington Road West – from the junction with C210 Caneheath Road to the junction with A22 Hailsham bypass.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via A22 Hailsham bypass, The Dicker – C39 Coldharbour Road – C690 Michelham Priory Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 29 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 29 April and 3 May 2024, depending upon the weather conditions. The East Sussex (U7039 Dern Lane, Waldron/Chiddingly) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Dern Lane – from the junction with C208 Furnace Lane to the junction with U7672 Stalkers Lane.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7672 Stalkers Lane – U7676 Graywood Lane – C328 Foxhunt Green – C208 Tanyard Hill, Furnace Lane and vice versa.

The Order commences 2 May 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken on 2 and 3 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7853 Perrymans Lane, Buxted/Herons Ghyll) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow BT Openreach to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Perrymans Lane – from the junction with A26 Uckfield Road to the junction with C402 Hurstwood Road.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C402 Hurstwood Road – U7502 Rocks Lane – A26 Uckfield Road and vice versa.

The Order commences 26 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 26 and 29 April 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C718 Mill Road, Hailsham) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Mill Road – From the junction with P9125 Millstone Drive to Lion House Park.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic Anti-Clockwise via C718 Mill Road, Market Street, Market Square – A295 George Street – C411 Station Road – C718 Old Swan Lane, Mill Road and

Clockwise via C718 Mill Road, Old Swan Lane – C411 Station Road – A295 George Street, North Street, High Street – C718 Market Square, Market Street, Mill Road.

The Order commences 30 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between 30 April and 2 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7514 Hempstead Road, Uckfield) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;

Temporary Road Closure

Hempstead Road – from the junction with C41 High Street to the junction with U7514 Hempstead Rise.

To facilitate these works it will be necessary to suspend the one-way system between Hempstead Rise and the entrance to Wealden Lodge by making the road 2 way for traffic.

A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C41 High Street – U7514 Grange Road, Hempstead Rise and vice versa. The Order commences 30 April 2024 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken from 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs between 30 April and 2 May 2024 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (Public Byway Open To All traffic (Multiple Routes)) (Temporary Closure except to Horse Drawn Vehicles, Motorcycles, and Quadricycles) Order 2024

To protect the byways from surface damage due to persistent wet conditions, East Sussex County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following byways to all vehicles except for access, horse drawn vehicles, motorcycles and quadricycles.

The Order is made following the issuing of a Temporary Notice under the relevant sections of the Road Traffic Act 1984, as amended. The closure will be in force for 6 months from 26 April 2024 or until conditions are suitable for reopening them, whichever is the earlier.
