What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

MAIDSTONE AREA

A229 CHATHAM ROAD, AYLESFORD, ME14 3DD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow M20 underbridge inspection and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A229 Chatham Road, Aylesford, on or after 25th May 2024 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Cobtree Roundabout slip road to Running Horse Roundabout, between the hours of 21:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for the southbound closure any through traffic is via A229 Chatham Road Slip Road, Cobtree Roundabout, A229 Chatham Road, A229 Running Horse Roundabout and A229 Royal Engineers Road.

The alternative route for the northbound closure any through traffic is via A229 Royal Engineers Road, A229 Running Horse Roundabout, A229 Chatham Road, A229 Cobtree Roundabout and A229 Chatham Road.

EYHORNE STREET, HOLLINGBOURNE, ME17 1UF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow electric cable upgrading to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Eyhorne Street, Hollingbourne, on or after 6th May 2024 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Snagbrook, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Eyhorne Street, Upper Street, Hollingbourne Hill, Court Dane Shaw, Swanton Lane, The Street, Primrose Lane, Bredgar Road, Hearts Delight Road, Wrens Road, Sutton Baron Road, Pond Farm Road, Oad Street, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Hill, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Newham Court Roundabout, Bearsted Road, New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, Eyhorne Street and vice versa.

EYHORNE STREET, HOLLINGBOURNE, ME17 1UX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow new water connection to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Eyhorne Street, Hollingbourne, on or after 20th May 2024 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Windmill Public House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Eyhorne Street, Upper Street, Hollingbourne Hill, Court Danes Shaw, Swanton Street, The Street, Primrose Lane, Bredgar Road, Hearts Delight Road, Wrens Road, Sutton Baron Road, Pond Farm Road, Oad Street, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Detling Interchange, A249 Sittingbourne Road, A249 Newnham Court Roundabout, Bearsted Road, New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, Eyhorne Street and vice versa.

HARPLE LANE, DETLING (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Harple Lane, Detling, on or after 9th May 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside East Lodge, between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Harple Lane, Pilgrims Way, A249 Sittingbourne Road and vice versa.

NORTH STREET, BARMING, ME16 9FL (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of North Street, Barming, on or after 23rd May 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside The Redstart Inn, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via North Street, Heath Road, B2246 Fountain Lane, A26 Tonbridge Road, North Street and vice versa.

OAKWOOD ROAD, MAIDSTONE, ME16 8AP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Oakwood Road, Maidstone, on or after 10th May 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside 70, between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Oakwood Road, Bower Mount Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, Oakwood Road and vice versa.

THE STREET, FRINSTED, ME9 0TQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of The Street, Frinsted, on or after 10th May 2024 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Copes Farm. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, Twin Hills Lane, Bottom Pond Road, Frinsted Lane, Gossy Hill Road, The Street and vice versa.

WHITE HORSE LANE, OTHAM, ME15 8YF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow new bellmouth and cycle lane to be installed, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of White Horse Lane, Otham, on or after 7th May 2024 for up to 14 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Pentecost Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via White Horse Lane, Gore Court Road, A274 Sutton Road, New Road, Honey Lane, White Horse Lane and vice versa.

WILLINGTON STREET & DERINGWOOD DRIVE, MAIDSTONE, ME15 8QX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow highway construction and signal replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Willington Street & Deringwood Drive, Maidstone, on or after 12th May 2024 for up to 15 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction of Willington Street and Deringwood Drive, between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any northbound through traffic on Willington Street is via A274 Sutton Road, A229 Loose Road, A229 Sheals Crescent, Postley Road, Hayle Road, A229 College Road, A229 Palace Avenue, A229 Lower Stone Street, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A20 Ashford Road and Willington Street.

The alternative route for any southbound through traffic on Willington Street is via A20 Ashford Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way, A229 Upper Stone Street, A229 Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road and Willington Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic on Deringwood Drive is via Mallards Way, Spot Lane, A20 Ashford Road and Willington Street.

WINDMILL HILL, ULCOMBE, ME17 1LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2024

To allow pole replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Windmill Hill, Ulcombe, on or after 7th May 2024 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Wyatangi, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lenham Road, Windmill Hill and vice versa.
