What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(LAWRENCE ROAD, BIGGLESWADE)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Lawrence Road, Biggleswade outside number 2.

This temporary closure is required to enable trial hole works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 30 April to 2 May 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via B1040, A6001, B1040, Chestnut Avenue and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 30 April 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER

HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (TEMPSFORD: PART OF FOOTPATH NO. 8) PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION ORDER 2024

On the 19 April 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council confirmed the above Order made under Section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the following length of public Footpath No 8, Tempsford as shown on the Order map.

The length of Footpath No. 8, Tempsford to be stopped up extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1555 5294, where it has a junction with another part of Footpath No. 8, Tempsford, in a southerly direction for approximately 320 metres to OS GR TL 1553 5262 where the path has a junction with another part of Footpath No. 8, Tempsford. The footpath is stopped up across its full width.

The length of Footpath No. 8, Tempsford to be created extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1555 5294 where it has a junction with another part of Footpath No. 8, Tempsford, in a south-easterly direction for approximately 53 metres along a grass track running around the eastern edge of the field to OS GR TL 1558 5290 and then in a southerly direction for approximately 194 metres to OS GR TL 1559 5270. It then continues in a south-westerly direction for approximately 99 metres to OS GR TL 1553 5262 where the path has a junction with another part of Footpath No. 8, Tempsford.

The new route of the footpath has a width of 2 metres.

The Order comes into force on 26 April 2024 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from 26 April 2024 make an application to the High Court. CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO 11) RAIL CROSSING DIVERSION ORDER 2020 (as amended by the CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO 11) RAIL CROSSING DIVERSION ORDER 2020 (VARIATION) ORDER 2023)

NOTICE OF CERTIFICATION

Notice is hereby given that the works required to divert that part of Bridleway No. 11, Biggleswade have been completed in accordance with the requirements of Article 1(b) of the above Order, which was confirmed by Central Bedfordshire Council on 12 March 2021.

The new route became effective from 28 February 2024 and the original route is hereby extinguished as of 19 April 2024.
