What is happening?

Temporary Traffic Management Order of A352, Cerne Abbas
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 April 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed between 30 May 2024 and 12 June 2024.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway surface dressing works.
The effect of the Order is as follows:
[1] To impose a temporary road closure on A352, CERNE ABBAS, between its junction with Duck Street and the entrance to Green Valley Yurts, a distance of approximately 4970 metres.
[2] To impose a parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent parking on the highway along A352, CERNE ABBAS, between its junction with Duck Street and the entrance to Green Valley Yurts, a distance of approximately 4970 metres.
[3] To impose a clearway as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting on the highway along A352, CERNE ABBAS, between its junction with Duck Street and the entrance to Green Valley Yurts, a distance of approximately 4970 metres.
Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction imposed by this Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. Please note that the dates are a window of opportunity, and the road may not be closed for the whole duration stated above and the works are weather dependant.
A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections.

Temporary Closure of B3143 Buckland Newton
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along B3143 Buckland Newton between The Cross and Factory Lane (in both directions), a distance of approximately 590 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14th May 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 24th May 2024.
This Order will enable Stabilised Pavements Ltd to undertake plaining, GPRS works and lowering/raising iron works and regen.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using B3143, B3150, A35, A37, A352, A3030 and vice versa.

All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along B3143 Factory Lane, Duntish between B3146 and Woolfords Water (in both directions), a distance of approximately 1040 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 14th May 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 24th May 2024

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 4th June 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17th June 2024.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
The effect of this notice is as follows:
[1] To impose temporary 10mph speed limit to facilitate convoy working on A357 Blandford Road, Shillingstone from the junction with Gains Cross Lane to the junction with Church Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 2300 metres.
[2] To impose clearway and parking suspension as indicated by signs on site to prevent waiting or parking on the highway along A357 Blandford Road, Shillingstone from the junction with Gains Cross Lane to the junction with Church Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 2300 metres. DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16th May 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 25th June 2024.
This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out carriageway maintenance and resurfacing works.
The effect of this notice is as follows:
[1] To impose temporary road closure on Various Roads, Puddletown, Burleston, Ahtelhampton, Tolpuddle & Affpuddle as listed;[i] The Moor, Puddletown from junction with High Street to Northbrook Roundabout; [ii] C34 from from junction with Milom Lane, Puddletown to the junction with B3390, Affpuddle; [iii] B3390, Affpuddle from junction with A35 to junction with Southover Lane; [iv] C79, Affpuddle from junction with B3390 to junction with The Hollow; [v] The Hollow, Briantspuddle from junction with C79 to junction with Yearlings Drove; [vi] Throop Heath Road, Briantspuddle from junction with Yearlings Drove to junction with C79; [vii] C79, Briantspuddle from junction with Cecily Bridge Road to junction with C80. Locally signed diversion routes will be put in place to enable traffic to travel around the closed sections. Please note the closures will be in operation, as and when indicated by signs on site. Advanced warning signs will be placed on the road two weeks advance of the closure to indicate the exact dates the closure will affect the roads.

Temporary Closure of Public Footpath Public Footpath
S33/12 & S33/13, Osmington
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All pedestrians will be prohibited from proceeding along Footpath S33/12, Osmington from grid reference SY 7354 8174 to grid reference SY 7354 816 & S33/13, Osmington from grid reference SY 7354 8174 to grid reference SY 7338 8175. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 April 2024 for a period of 26 weeks, but it may be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport, if necessary.
This closure is needed due to the path being unsafe due to land slip.

Temporary Closure of South Walks Road (Westbound), Dorchester
DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding westbound along SOUTH WALKS ROAD, DORCHESTER between its junctions with Acland Road and Prince of Wales Road. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 April 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17 May 2024. This Order will enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution, safe access to carry out electrical works.
An alternative route will be signed using: Acland Road - B3150 - B3147 - B3144.

It will come into operation on 29 April 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 8 May 2024. Works will take place between 0900 and 1600.
This Order will enable Miles Macadam on behalf of Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works. The effect of this Order will be:
[1] To impose temporary road closure and clearway on Lewell Way for its entirety.
[2] To impose temporary road closure and clearway on Glebe Way for its entirety.
[3] To impose temporary road closure and clearway on Stafford Close for its entirety.

The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 16 May 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months and can be extended with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport if necessary; however, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 May 2024. This Order will enable Dorset Council to carry out essential highway maintenance works. The effect of this Order will be:
[1] To impose a temporary road closure on East Street for its entirety.
[2] To impose a temporary clearway on East Street for its entirety to prevent vehicles parking except those associated with the works.
Please note that any vehicle waiting in contravention of temporary parking restrictions may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986. The Order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 29 April 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 19 July 2024.
This Order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to replace pipework.
The effect of this Order is as follows:
All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along;
[1] LOOKE LANE, PUNCKNOWLE between its junction with Springfield and its junction with Coxs Lane, a distance of approximately 2200 metres.
[2] SPRINGFIELD, PUNCKNOWLE between its junction with Looke Lane and number 30, a distance of approximately 60 metres.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Litton Lane - Rectory Lane.
