The Causeway, Temporary Road Closure Due To Resurfacing Works
What is happening?
The County Council of Durham (C30 The Causeway, Wolsingham) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2024
The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on a 316 metre length of C30 The Causeway, Wolsingham from the front of no.1 The Causeway at northern side of closure in a southerly direction to the entrance to Wolsingham Bridge to enable carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken.
Throughout the period of closure, a diversion will be available to vehicular traffic from south side of closure, in a southerly direction on C30 Wear Bank/Howlea Lane/Shull Bank/Bedburn Road, then east on C31 Saunders Avenue then south on C30 then south east on C33 then east on C33 then north on A68 then north west on A689 to northern end of closure and vice versa.
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on Tuesday 7/5/2024 (weekdays only between 9.00 am to 3.00 pm daily) and are anticipated to be completed in 7 days. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed accordingly.
