ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)

(Back Dorset Terrace, Harehills, Leeds) 

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highways (Road closure required for Northern Power Grid works) Leeds City Council has today made an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Back Dorset Terrace, Harehills, Leeds in the Gipton & Harehills Ward between its junctions with Dorset Road and Harehills Lane. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 29th April 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s) for Road closure required for Northern Power Grid works Leeds City Council intends in not less than 7 days to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along Frankland Grove, Leeds in the Chapel Allerton Ward between its junctions with Frankland Place and Hamilton Place. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Frankland Place, Louis Street, Hamilton Place, Francis Street. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 20th May 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. (Horsforth Funfair) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the Council of the City of Leeds has made the following Order under section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – the Leeds City Council (Horsforth Funfair) (Temporary Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2024. The effect of the Order is to introduce a – Prohibition of Waiting by Vehicles, 11am-10pm on: Hall Lane: North side between Fink Hill and West End Lane. The prohibition is in effect from 25 April to 7 May 2024. The prohibition is necessary because of the likelihood of danger to the public on an adjacent road due to the holding of the Fun Fair, which will increase vehicle and pedestrian numbers in the vicinity of the event. Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 – Section 16a 

Leeds Trades Union Congress ‘May Day March’ Saturday 4 May 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has made the Leeds City Council (May Day March, Leeds City Centre) (Temporary Road Closures) Order 2024 under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit and restrict the use of certain roads by vehicles to facilitate the holding of the Leeds Trades Union Congress May Day March (‘the Event’) on Saturday 4th May 2024. The effect of the Order is that no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed on the lengths of road/road junctions specified in the Schedule below PROVIDED THAT such prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the Event. The Order will come into effect at 12:00 hours on Saturday 4 May 2024 and will continue in force until 13:30 hours that day. The prohibitions of vehicles will take effect by way of a rolling road closure and roads will be reopened to traffic after the March has passed when it is safe to do so. The Order will not at any time prevent access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which the Order relates, or to any premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from, any such road. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained.

SCHEDULE: PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES

March Route: Inbound (12:00-13:30 hours) on Saturday 4 May 2024 The March will assemble at Victoria Gardens, and proceed along Cookridge Street, The Headrow, Vicar Lane, New Market Street, Duncan Street, Briggate, The Headrow and Calverley Street; before returning to Victoria Gardens. Closure points (12:00 hours to 13:30 hours) on Saturday 4 May 2024 to facilitate March Route The March will be controlled by a rolling road closure, and all roads intersecting the March Route set out above will be closed in sequence for only for so long as it is necessary for the March to pass. Section 16a Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 

Hirst’s Yard Courtyard Party Event Sunday 5 May 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has made the LEEDS CITY COUNCIL (HIRST’S YARD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024 under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to facilitate the holding of the Hirst’s Yard Courtyard Party Event. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicles from proceeding in: Hirst’s Yard – from its junction with Call Lane for a distance of 45m in a westerly direction. The prohibition shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the Event. Access for the emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained to all premises situated on or adjacent to the restricted length of Hirst’s Yard. The Order will be in effect on Sunday 5th May 2024 between 11:00 hrs and 23:00 hrs. N Gardiner.

Race For Life – Temple Newsam Park

Saturday 11 And Sunday 12 May 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council intends in not less than 7 days to make the Leeds City Council (Various Roads In The Temple Newsam Area) (Temporary Road Closures And Prohibitions Of Waiting) Order 2024 under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public due an increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in connection with the holding of an event in the Park at Temple Newsam. The effect of Order is as follows;

1. Prohibition of Vehicles – Elm Walk full length.

2. Prohibition of Vehicles except for Access to adjoining properties

a Colton Road – from its junction with The Elm Walk to its junction with Gibson Drive;

b Gibson Drive (full length);

c Pickard Court (full length);

d Barton Court (full length);

e Lennox Gardens (full length);

f Stewart Close (full length);

g Manor Garth (full length);

h Pendil Close (full length);

i Maltby Court (full length);

j Manor Croft (full length);

k Temple Newsam Road – from its junction with New Temple gate in a southerly direction to its termination.

n Pontefract Lane – from its junction with Junction 45 of the M1 in a generally easterly direction to its termination;

o Newsam Green Road (full length

3. No Waiting at Any Time

a. Temple Newsam Road from the Junction of Selby Road for its entire length

b. Irwin Approach entire length

c. Colton Road for a distance of 350m from its junction with Selby Road.

4. The prohibitions at numbers 1,2 and 3 above shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the ‘Race for Life’ event. Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained to all premises situated or adjacent to any road or part of the roads to which the prohibitions apply including other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only such road.

5. The above closures and prohibition of waiting will be in effect between 07.00 hours and 16:00 hours Saturday 11th May 2024 and between 07:00 hours and 14:30 hours Sunday 12th May 2024 N Gardiner

(School Lane, Collingham, Leeds) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the under mentioned highway(s) for Replacement of gas pipes Leeds City Council intends in not less than 7 days to make an Order the effect of which will be that: No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel along School Lane, Collingham, Leeds in the Harewood Ward between its junctions with Hollybush Green to Jewitt Lane. A diversionary route for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via: Leeds Road, Main Street, Wetherby Road, Jewitt Lane, vice versa. Essential access to and from premises and for emergency vehicles will be maintained. The Order is intended to come into operation on Monday 13th May 2024 and will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works are completed if earlier. Leeds Bank Holiday Street Party 5 And 6 May 2024

Call Lane (Part) – Temporary Road Closure and Duncan Street – Suspension of Bus Gate

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council as traffic authority for the Leeds Metropolitan District, has made the Leeds City Council (Call Lane and Duncan Street) (Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic and Suspension of Bus Gate) Order 2024 under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is (i) to prohibit the use of a length of Call Lane by vehicles; and (ii) to suspend the operation of the Bus Gate on Duncan Street – to facilitate the holding of Call Lane Bank Holiday Street Party on 5th/6th May 2024, as specified in the Schedule below. Where necessary local diversions will be in operation, signed as appropriate. The prohibition will not apply to anything undertaken on the direction of or with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a traffic marshal, or any other official so authorised in the control and operation of the Event, or in accordance with any sign placed by West Yorkshire Police. Emergency access will be maintained for the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance purposes and for organisations responsible for dealing with the loss of supplies of gas, electricity, water or electronic communications, to premises in the area and for the removal of any obstruction to traffic. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Leeds City Council intends in not less than 7 days to make Leeds City Council (Mint Festival, Newsam Green Farm) (Temporary Road Closures and Prohibitions Of Waiting) Order 2024 Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public due an increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in connection with the holding the MINT Festival event at Newsam Green Farm. The effect of Order is as follows;

PROHIBITION OF RIGHT TURN

1.  No  person shall cause or permit any vehicle to turn right leaving the site from shuttle/Mint taxi Gate 1 onto Newsam Green Road; between 08:30 hours Saturday 4 May and 23:59 hours on Sunday 5 May 2024. PROHIBITION OF WAITING

2.  No  person shall cause any vehicle to wait between 08:30 hours on Saturday 4 May and 01:00 hours on Monday 6 May 2024, upon: -

a.  Pontefract Lane from Newsam Green Road to Lakeside Way.

b.  Newsam Green Road from Pontefract Lane to Bullerthorpe Lane.

c.  Bullerthorpe Lane from its junction with Newsam Green Road for a distance of 500m to the north, and for a distance of 500m to the south.

30MPH SPEED LIMIT

3.  No  person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel at a speed in excess of 30mph on Pontefract Lane and Newsam Green Road from the junction of Newsam Green Road and Bullerthorpe Lane and the junction of Pontefract Lane and Lakeside Way, between 08:30 hours Saturday 4 May and 23:59 hours on Sunday 5 May 2024.

40MPH SPEED LIMIT

4.  No  person shall cause or permit any vehicle to travel at a speed in excess of 40mph on Bullerthorpe Lane from its junction with Newsam Green Road for a distance of 1km to the north, and for a distance of 350m to the south, between 08:30 hours Saturday 4 May and 23:59 hours on Sunday 5 May 2024.

PROHIBITION OF ENTRY

5.  No entry for vehicles (except buses associated with the event): turning into Newsam Green from Bullerthorpe Lane; between 21:00 hours and 23:59 hours Saturday 4 May 2024 and Sunday 5 May 2024. TRAFFIC SIGNALS

6.  Temporary Traffic Signals: Bullerthorpe Lane and Newsam Green Road: three-way signals (two phase system) as required between 08:00 hrs and 23:59hrs Saturday 4 May 2024 and Sunday 5 May 2024. PROHIBITION OF VEHICLES

7.  Road Closure: Pontefract Lane from Junction 45 Lakeside Way to gate 2: between 21:00 hours and 23:59 hours Saturday 4 May 2024 and Sunday 5 May 2024.

8.  Suspension  of parking restrictions: Springwell Road from Water Lane to Springwell View for between 08:30 hours Saturday 4 May 2024 and 01:00 hrs Monday 6 May 2024.

The Prohibitions ad restrictions above shall not extend to vehicles being used in connection with the event. Access for emergency services and pedestrians will be maintained to all premises situated or adjacent to any road or part of road to which restrictions apply including other premises accessible for pedestrians from and only such road. (Speed Limit) (No.6) Order 2024 20mph Zone, Calverley and Farsley Ward

Leeds City Council proposes to make the above Order under its powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to introduce a 20 MPH Speed Limit (Zone) on the entire lengths of the following roads: BACK LANE; BECKBURY CLOSE; BECKBURY STREET; BROOM MILLS ROAD; BURTON STREET; GAUNTS PLACE; LAWSON COURT; MILL BECK CLOSE; OLD FOLD; PROSPECT STREET; PROSPECT TERRACE; ST JOHNS VIEW; WOODHALL CLOSE; WOODHALL CROFT; WOODHALL ROAD. Full details of the proposals together with plans showing the affected lengths of highway and statement of reasons for making the Order are available on request by e-mailing the address below.
