THE ROYAL BOROUGH OF WINDSOR & MAIDENHEAD
(WINDSOR TRIATHLON)
(TRAFFIC REGULATION & TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) ORDER 2024
SECTION 16A ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead, proposes to make an Order, the effect of which will be to:
Prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along the lengths of roads specified in Schedules 1 to 3 at the times shown therein and to prohibit right turns by vehicles at various road junctions as detailed in Schedule 4. The restrictions shall apply to those lengths of roads specified in the Schedules at such times when signs in accordance with the Traffic Sign Regulations and General Directions 2016 are duly in place to indicate the said restrictions.
A diversion route in relation to the roads specified in Schedule 3 is as follows B3021 Southlea Road, A308 Albert Road, A308 Osborne Road, B3022 St Leonard’s Road, A308 Goslar Way, Clarence Road roundabout northbound slip road to the A308 Maidenhead Road, Maidenhead Road and Arthur Road.
The purpose of the proposed Order is because of the likelihood of danger to the public due to an event to be held on the public highway and on land immediately adjacent to the public highway.
As a result there will be an increase in vehicle numbers and pedestrian traffic in the area, in addition to the events’ participants being on the public highway.
In order to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic, to prevent congestion and to avoid conflict with pedestrians, the prohibitions as described are required to be implemented.
The proposed Order will be in operation on Sunday 9 June 2024 and will remain in effect on that day only.
