THE HAMPSHIRE (HART DISTRICT NO.11)

(PARISH OF STRATFIELD TURGIS - FOOTPATH NO. 1)

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP

AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2023

On the 28 February 2024 Hampshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath in the Parish of Stratfield Turgis from its current alignment commencing at a point on Bylands Lane and proceeding in a northeasterly direction for approximately 280 metres and continuing in a southeasterly direction to a junction with Heckfield Footpath 1 at the parish boundary; to a new alignment commencing at a junction on Bylands Lane approximately 120 metres south of the currently recorded route and proceeding in an easterly direction across an arable field and continuing along the field boundary in a north-easterly direction to a junction with Heckfield Footpath 1 at the parish boundary.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ, and at the offices of Hart District Council Civic Offices, Harlington Way, Fleet GU51 4AE at all reasonable hours; and online at www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices. Copies of the Order and the map can be provided on request.

The Order comes into force when Hampshire County Council has certified that the work necessary to bring the new path into a fit condition for use by the public has been carried out, but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 26 April 2024 make an application to the High Court.
