Notice of Temporary Traffic Order
Bucknell, Bainton Road Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 22/04/2024 Coming into force: 02/05/2024
This Order is being introduced because of junction improvements of the B4100 Banbury Road roundabout scheme at its junction with Bainton Road which is anticipated to take up to 18 months to complete.
The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding through the junction described. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.
Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.
This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T13772/RMF)

Oxfordshire County Council 1.) (Chesterton Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2024 2.) (Chesterton, Little Chesterton) (Prohibition Of Motor Vehicles) Order 2024
NOTICE is given that on 22 April 2024 Oxfordshire County Council made the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The orders which come into force on 29 April
- Order 1 replaces the 60mph national speed limit on the unnamed road running through Little Chesterton as follows:
- 20mph speed limit - from a point 600 metres southeast of its junction with Green Lane, southwards to a point 350 metres northwest of its junction with A41 Oxford Road, and a
- 40mph speed limit - from its junction with Green Lane, south-eastwards for a distance of 600 metres.
Additionally, the previous 20mph speed limit on The Green in Chesterton is extended southwards by a further 202 metres, following road safety concerns being raised by the Parish council, due to the route often being used by vulnerable road-users, including pedestrians (with no footway).
Order 2 introduces a 'Prohibition of Motor Vehicles' gate on the unnamed road running through Little Chesterton at the point of the proposed speed 20mph limit change, i.e. west of Grange Farm entrance. Access will be available for emergency services and other authorised vehicles.
The Oxfordshire County Council (Chesterton Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2023 is revoked/ replaced.

If you wish to question the validity of Order 2. or of any provision contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of this Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to this Order, you may within six weeks from 22 April 2024 apply to the High Court for this purpose. Variation Of Charges For Residents' Parking Permits (April 2024)
NOTICE is given by the Oxfordshire County Council (the "Council") pursuant to Section 46A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Section 25 of the Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996, that charges for residents parking permits in Oxford, Abingdon, and Henley-on-Thames have been varied. Each of the Parking Orders for Oxford City and North Hinksey (Controlled Parking Zones), South Oxfordshire District, Cherwell District Council and The Vale of White Horse District have fees increased in accordance with the below tables.
The revised charges - in line with the approved budgets set at Cabinet in January 2023
- came into effect on 1 April 2024.
