ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (A61 ALFRETON TO COUNTY BOUNDARY AND ADJACENT ROADS)
(RESTRICTED ROAD, 40MPH, 50MPH AND DERESTRICTED SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that Derbyshire County Council proposes to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order will be, in respects of roads, in the Boroughs of Chesterfield and Amber Valley and the District of North-East Derbyshire, is as follows:
RESTRICTED SPEED LIMIT (30MPH)
A61 (Chesterfield Road and Main Road) in the Parish of Shirland and Higham
From a point 179 metres north of its junction with Well Lane in a south-easterly direction, to a point 1 metre north of its junction with Cross Lane.
40MPH SPEED LIMIT
A61 (Derby Road) in Alfreton
From a point 66 metres south of its junction with the A615 Eachwell Lane, in a southerly direction to include the roundabout junction with the A38(T) at Watchorn Island.
DERESTRICTED SPEED LIMIT (This is and administrative change only and speed limit signs on site will remain in their current location)
A61 (Dronfield – Unstone Bypass southbound exit slip road to Broombank Road/B6057 Sheffield Road) in Chesterfield
From its junction with the mainline A61 in a south-easterly direction, to its junction with Broombank Road / B6057 Sheffield Road.
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked.
A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock during opening hours and on request by emailing place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk until 6 weeks after the Order is made and at Alfreton Library, Severn Square, Alfreton, Derbyshire, DE55 7BQ during opening hours.
All objections and other representations to the proposal must (a) be made in writing (b) state the grounds on which they are made (c) provide a name and address for contact purposes (d) be sent to the Executive Director – Place, Derbyshire County Council, County Hall, Matlock DE4 3AG (For Attention of Traffic and Safety Team quoting reference Z3422) or email place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk by Friday 24th May 2024.
