(Various Roads Orchard Vale Area, Kingswood) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas mains upgrade works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 29 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 weeks duration. Schedule: Orchard Vale – that length which extends from a point 30m east of Gages Road eastwards for 130m; Fairview Road – from Orchard Vale north westwards for 40m; Coronation Road – from Orchard Vale south eastwards for 35m Alternative routes: Orchard Vale Diversion – Orchard Vale, Woodstock Road, Hill Street, Grimsbury Road, Orchard Vale and vice versa; Fairview Road Diversion – Fairview Road, Hill Street, Grimsbury Road, Coronation Road and vice versa
(Great Stoke Way North, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles the entire length of Great Stoke Way North. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with bridge repair works. The order became operative from 29 April 2024 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 months duration, night closures between the hours of 7pm and 7am. Alternative route: B4057, A38, A4174, Stoke Gifford Bypass and vice versa
(Public Footpaths LSG/7/30 and LSG/7/40, Stoke Gifford) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers and Pedal Cycles) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers and pedal cycles the lengths of Public Footpath specified in the Schedule to this notice. This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon bridge repair works. The order became operative from 29 April 2024 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 months duration, between the hours of 7pm and 7am. Schedule: Footpath LSG/7/30 – from a point in line with property boundary of No. 349 Bakers Ground eastwards to public footpath LSG/7/40; Footpath LSG/7/40 – from public footpath LSG/7/30 eastwards including the entire length of Mulgrove Cycleway Bridge and interlinking ramp and steps. Alternative route: Footpath Bakers Ground by 349 to footbridge Bradley Stoke Way (parts unaffected), Trevelyan Walk footway, Great Stoke Way North footway (heading south), Great Stoke Way North footway (heading north), Winterbourne Road footway and vice versa
(Kelston Close, Yate) (Prohibition of Driving Restricted Hours) Order 2024
NOTICE is hereby given that on 17 April 2024 South Gloucestershire District Council made an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which is to:- a) prohibit any motor vehicle entering or proceeding in that length of Kelston Close, Yate which extends from a point 87m south of Rodford Way for a 72m, during the restricted hours; and b) revoke the South Gloucestershire Council (Kelston Close, Yate) (Prohibition of Driving Restricted Hours) Order 2021 in favour of item a) above. Exemptions are contained in the order for vehicles to be used for building, industrial or demolition operations; the removal of any obstruction to traffic; the maintenance, improvement or reconstruction of the road; the laying, erection, alteration or repair in, or in land adjacent to the road of any sewer, or of any main, pipe or apparatus for the supply of gas, water or electricity or any telecommunication apparatus; in the service of a local authority, for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes in exercise of official duties and for the purpose of gaining access to premises accessible only from that length of road. The order will come into operation on 25 April 2024 and a copy thereof together with a map and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected at Yate One Stop Shop, Kennedy Way, Yate during normal opening hours. Any person who desires to question the validity
of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
(Various Roads and Footpaths, Badminton Area – Badminton Horse Trials) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has –
1. Prohibited, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding in the lengths of road specified in column 1 of Schedule 1 to this Notice from making aright turn onto the roads specified in column 2 of the said Schedule between the hours and on the dates specified in column 3 of the said Schedule.
2. closed, temporarily, to vehicles, RAGGED CASTLE ROAD, Hawkesbury from A433 Tetbury Road to Holly Bush Lane, Hawkesbury between 0001 hours and 2359 hours on 11 May 2024.
3. closed, temporarily, to pedestrians Footpath LHA/109 Hawkesbury between its junctions with Park Road and Cherry Orchard Lane between 0600 hours and 1800 hours on 11 May 2024.
4. instituted, temporarily, one way traffic working in the lengths of road specified in Column 1 of Schedule 2 to this Notice in the direction indicated in relation to that length of road in Column 2 of the said Schedule, between the hours and on the dates specified in Column 3 of the said Schedule.
5. prohibited, temporarily, any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 30 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice between Midnight on 6 May 2024 and 2359 hours on 12 May 2024.
6. prohibited, temporarily, any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed exceeding 40 miles per hour on the lengths of road specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice between Midnight on 6 May 2024 and 2359 hours on 12 May 2024.
7. prohibited, temporarily, vehicles waiting at any time in the lengths and sides of road specified in Schedule 6 to this Notice between 0600 hours and 1900 hours on any day between 8 May 2024 and 12 May 2024. Loading/Unloading of goods from vehicles will be permitted.
This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon traffic congestion and other adverse traffic conditions created by the holding of the Badminton Horse Trials and became operative from the 6 May 2024 between the hours and on the dates specified in this Notice.
