Hertfordshire, Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Closing and Temporary Waiting Restrictions
What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN LODGEFIELD AND BIRCHALL WOOD, WELWYN GARDEN CITY AND SCHOOL LANE, WELWYN) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Lodgefield, Welwyn Garden City from a point in line with the western boundary of No.59 south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
2. that length of Birchall Wood, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with the Sylvan Way roundabout south eastwards, north eastwards, south westwards, north westwards and south eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
3. that length of School Lane, Welwyn from its junction with Hawbush Rise south westwards, westwards and south westwards to its junction with Ayot St Peter Road, a distance of approximately 1290m.
An alternative route will be via School Lane, High Street, London Road, B197 Digswell Road, Ayot Green Lane and Ayot St Peter Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY 50MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS IN ASCOTS LANE, WELWYN GARDEN CITY)
ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicles from being driven at a speed exceeding 50mph on that length of Ascots Lane, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with A1000 Chequers north eastwards to its junction with Hollybush Lane ("the Road"), a distance of approximately 540m. The Order is needed because construction works access are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 13 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN ROBBERY BOTTOM LANE, OAKLANDS AND HEATH LANE, CODICOTE) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Robbery Bottom Lane, Oaklands from its junction with Lower Mardley Hill north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with White Horse Lane, a distance of approximately 1451m.
An alternative route will be via Lower Mardley Hill, B197 (Mardley Hill/London Road), Mardleybury Road and White Horse Lane.
2. that length of Heath Lane, Codicote from its junction with Kimpton Road north eastwards to its junction with The Grove, a distance of approximately 409m.
An alternative route will be via Kimpton Road, B651 (High Street/Hitchin Road/Horn Hill/High Street),
Codicote Road, Whitwell Road, B656 High Street and Heath Lane.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 1 May 2024 for a period of up to 18 months.
However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near
the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHURCH LANE, NORTHAW) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Church Lane, Northaw from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.22 Church Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 30m ("the Road").
An alternative route will be via Church Lane, Vicarage Close, Vineyards Road, B156 Northaw Road West and Church Lane.
The Order is needed because electric service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 April 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

BLAKEMERE ROAD AND CRESWICK COURT, WELWYN GARDEN CITY) ORDER 2024
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of Blakemere Road, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Digswell Rise south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.
An alternative route will be via Digswell Rise, Digswell Road and Walden Road.
2. that length of Creswick Court, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with Goblins Green south westwards and clockwise for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads. The Order has been made and shall come into force on 29 April 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
