What is happening?

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (CALVERTON FOOTPATH NO.4) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of ‘The Nottinghamshire County Council (Calverton Footpath No.4) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2023’ (which came into force on 25th October 2023 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order which remains in force until 24th April 2024 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 24th April 2025 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.

The Order has the following effect:- No person shall: - proceed on foot, in the following length of Footpath at Calverton in the Borough of Gedling :- Calverton Footpath No.4 where it passes through Oxton Bogs.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route available on public rights of way. If the works are not completed within the above period, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. The prohibition is required to enable replacement of broken footbridge and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.
