What is happening?
Highways
Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.
ASHFORD AREA
APPLEDORE ROAD, WOODCHURCH, TN26 3TQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024
To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Appledore Road, Woodchurch, on or after 30th April 2024, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Paddocks, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Appledore Road, B2067 Warehorne Road, Appledore Road, Kenardington Road, Woodchurch Road and Appledore Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
CHURCH HILL, CHARING, TN27 0BU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2024
To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Church Hill, Charing, on or after 16th May 2024, for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Thatch Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Church Hill, Vicarage Lane, Egerton Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
FOSTEN LANE, BIDDENDEN, TN27 8EN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024
To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Fosten Lane, Biddenden, on or after 30th April 2024, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed from 800m north of the junction with Cranbrook Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Fosten Lane, Cranbrook Road, Biddenden Road, Tenterden Road, A262 Sissinghurst Road, Fosten Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
HIGH HALDEN ROAD, BIDDENDEN, TN27 8BD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2024
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Halden Road, Biddenden, on or after 13th May 2024, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Dashmonden Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
These works are in conjunction with two-way lights on Tenterden Road.
The alternative route is via Tenterden Road, Biddenden Road, High Halden Lane, High Halden Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
MILL LANE, ALDINGTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Mill Lane, Aldington, on or after 29th April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Boughton House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Mill Lane, Mill Road, New Road Hill, Cherry Orchard Lane, Fir Tree Villa Street, Rocky Bourne Road, Mill Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
PLUMPTON, BRABOURNE - ASHFORD - PRESERVATION TREATMENTS. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING AND TEMPORARY 40 MPH & 20 MPH SPEED RESTRICTIONS) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2024
To allow patching and preservation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on Plumpton, Brabourne.
This Order takes effect on or after 13th May 2024, for a period of up to 18 months or until works have been completed. It may be necessary for the road to be closed for multiple occasions for each phase of the works. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works on One.Network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.
After the preservation treatment works, a temporary speed limit of 40 mph & 20 mph may need to be imposed for a period of up to 7 days. Where the 40 mph & 20 mph speed limit does apply, this will be clearly indicated by relevant signs displayed on site.
These works are subject to weather and other factors which may potentially cause changes at short notice, every effort will be made to keep as close as possible to the planned dates that are notified, and any changes will be publicised.

Plumpton, Brabourne
The road will be closed between Bulltown Lane and Green Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Bulltown Lane, Green Lane and vice versa.
Speed restriction
It will be necessary to impose a 40 mph speed limit on the approach to, and then a 20mph speed limit through, the working site as detailed below:-
Plumpton, Brabourne - between Bulltown Lane and Green Lane.
READING STREET, TENTERDEN. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Reading Street, Tenterden, on or after 13th May 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 16.30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Willow Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

ROMAN ROAD, ALDINGTON, TN25 7EF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024
To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Roman Road, Aldington, on or after 30th April 2024, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 09.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of The Old Rectory, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Roman Road, B2067 Knoll Hill, Boat Lane, New Road Hill, Forge Hill, Ragstone Hollow and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
SANDYHURST LANE, BOUGHTON ALUPH, TN25 4NX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Sandyhurst Lane, Boughton Aluph, on or after 30th April 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 184, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Faversham Road, Trinity Road, Junction 9, M20 Junction 9 To Junction 10 On Slip, M20 Junction 9 From J10 Off Slip, Fougeres Way, Simone Weil Roundabout, Maidstone Road North Of Drovers Roundabout, Sandyhurst Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
TILDEN CHAPEL LANE, SMARDEN, TN27 8QN (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2024
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Tilden Chapel Lane, Smarden, on or after 1st May 2024, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed in the vicinity of Lime Kiln Farm, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Tilden Chapel Lane, The Cut, Biddenden Road, Bethersden Road, Luckhurst Lane, Tilden Chapel Lane and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
VARIOUS ROADS, KENNINGTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER APRIL 2024
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on various roads in Kennington, on or after 29th April 2024, with estimated completion by 27th September 2024, or until the works have been completed.

Church Road, Kennington
Church Lane will be closed from 29th April 2024, with estimated completion by 24th May 2024.
The road will be closed from the junction with Studio Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via The Street, A28 Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.
Footpath from The Ridge to Church Road, Kennington
The Footpath from The Ridge to Church Road will be closed from 29th April 2024, with estimated completion by 24th May 2024.
The footpath will be closed between the junctions of The Ridge and Studio Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site..
The alternative route for pedestrians is via The Ridge, Nettlefield, Warwick Road, Burton Road, Church Road and vice versa.
Church Road, Kennington
Church Road will be closed from 3rd June 2024, with estimated completion by 21st June 2024.
The road will be closed from the junction with Burton Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Church Road, The Street, A28 Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.
Church Road, Kennington
Church Road will be closed from 15th July 2024, with estimated completion by 9th August 2024.
The road will be closed from the junction with The Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is:-
Phase 1 is via Faversham Road, Upper Vicarage Road and vice versa or The Street, A28 Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.
Phase 2 is via Church Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.
The Street, Kennington
The Street will be closed from from 15th July 2024, with estimated completion by 9th August 2024.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Church Road and Kingsley Gate, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is:-
Phase 1 is via Faversham Road, Upper Vicarage Road and vice versa or The Street, A28 Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.
Phase 2 is via Church Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.
Faversham Road, Kennington
Faversham Road will be closed from 19th August 2024, with estimated completion by 6th September 2024.
The road will be closed between the junctions of Park Road and Burton Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Trinity Road, A20, A28 Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.
Warwick Road, Kennington
Warwick Road will be closed from 2nd September 2024, with estimated completion by 27th September 2024.
The road will be closed from the junction of Shepway, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Dudley Road, Nettlefield and vice versa.
