Mowbray Street And Hotspur Street - Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2024
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (MOWBRAY STREET AND HOTSPUR STREET) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 18 April 2024 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from proceeding on -
(a) Hotspur Street from Heaton Park Road south westwards to No.10 Hotspur Street, and
(b) Mowbray Street from Heaton Park Road south westwards to No.26/28 Mowbray Street.
2. The alternative route for vehicles will be signed on site as required.
3. The Order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and for police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.
5. The Order will come into operation on 25 April 2024 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, for 3 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the closure will only be required for 4 days within the period the Order is made for. The roads will be reopened between 3.30pm to 9.30am each day.
