What is happening?

Temporary Closure of B3145 Long Street, Sherborne

DORSET COUNCIL has made an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along B3145 Long Street, Sherborne from junction with St Swithins Road to the junction with Newland (in both directions), a distance of approximately 270 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22 April 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28 April 2024.

This Order will provide Gigaclear engineers with safe access to install fi bre infrastructure.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using B3145, A30 and vice versa.

Temporary Closure of Chapel Road, Lower Bagber

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Chapel Road, Lower Bagber from junction with Stalbridge Lane to a point approximately 450 metres to the west (in both directions). The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 13 May 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 28 June 2024.

This Order will enable JDT (agents working on behalf of SGN) to install a new gas main adjacent to the highway as well as for storage of materials and plant.

An alternative vehicular route will be signed using C109, A357, C15 and vice versa.

DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffi c Regulations Act 1984, as amended. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation overnight between 18:30 and 05:00 on 15 May 2024 and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 21 May 2024.

This Order will provide Gigaclear with safe access to install ducting and associated infrastructure in to the highway.

The effect of this Order is as follows:

[1] To impose temporary road closure on Church Street, Sturminster Newton from junction with B3092 Market Cross to outside 1 Church Street (in both directions), a distance of approximately 40 metres. A locally signed diversion route will be put in place to enable traffi c to travel around the closed section; [2] To revoke the left turn ban on Church Street, Sturminster Newton at the junction with Market Place; [3] To revoke the one way order on Market Place, Sturminster Newton from outside 35 Church Street to outside 34 Market Place to facilitate the diversion route. Traffi c will be managed around the section by temporary multiway traffi c lights.
