CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL – NOTICE OF MAKING VARIOUS OFF STREET ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING BAYS
On 9th April 2024 Central Bedfordshire Council made the below named Traffic Regulation Order which has the effect as follows:-
To add the following Off-Street Electric Vehicle Charging Bays to our Electric Vehicle Parking Places Order:

Order Title:- Central Bedfordshire Council (Electric Vehicle Parking Places) Order 2024 Date of Operation:- The Order will come into operation on the 26th April 2024.

High Court Challenge:- Any person who desires to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant Section of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of that Section had not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of 9th April 2024, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BIGGLESWADE: PART OF FOOTPATH NO 24) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2022
Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 21 October 2022 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the length of part of public Footpath No 24, Biggleswade which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 2037 4425 in an east north-easterly direction to OS GR TL 2047 4430 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 22 April 2025.
This temporary closure is required to enable building and earthworks to take place adjacent to the path. The closure is expected to continue from 23 April 2024 for up to twelve months.
The alternative route for footpath users while the closure is in operation will be:
From OS GR TL 2037 4425 head in a generally north easterly direction along the track to OS GR TL 2043 4438, then continue south easterly towards OS GR TL 2047 4430 and vice versa. The Order will continue in force until 22 April 2025 or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within twelve months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (NORTHILL: BRIDLEWAY NO 6 AND FOOTPATH NOS 5 AND 22, OLD WARDEN: BRIDLEWAY NOS 14 AND 21 AND SOUTHILL: BRIDLEWAY NO 3) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council intend not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot along the following lengths of public footpath:
I. Footpath No 5, Northill which extends from OS GR TL 1653 4540 to OS GR TL 1536 4515
II. Footpath No 22, Northill which extends from OS GR TL 1583 4576 to OS GR TL 1597 4531
And proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the following lengths of public bridleway:
III. Bridleway No 6, Northill which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1514 4540 to OS GR TL 1545 4484
IV. Bridleway No 14, Old Warden which extends from OS GR TL 1547 4483 to OS GR TL 1579 4417 and OS GR TL 1571 4415 to OS GR TL 1537 4381
V. Bridleway No 21, Old Warden which extends from OS GR TL 1658 4430 to OS GR TL 1571 4415
VI. Bridleway No 3, Southill which extends from OS GR TL 1537 4381 to OS GR TL 1488 4305
These temporary closures are required to enable the Shuttleworth Air Shows to take place in safety. The closures will be in force as follows:
Sunday 12 May 2024 – 1:45pm and 7pm
Sunday 2 June 2024 – 1:45pm and 7pm Saturday 29 June 2024 – 12:30pm and 7pm
Sunday 30 June 2024 – 11:30am and 7pm
Saturday 20 July 2024 – 4pm and 9pm Sunday 11 August 2024 – 1:45pm and 7pm
Saturday 31 August 2024 – 5:45pm and 9pm
Sunday 6 October 2024 – 1:45pm and 7pm
There is no alternative route for footpath and bridleway users while the closure is in operation.

This proposed Order will come into operation on 12 May 2024 for a period not exceeding six months or until the event has finished, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (KING STREET, POTTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of King Street, Potton between Market Square and Myers Road.
This temporary closure is required to enable yellow line installation works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 15 to 17 May 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B1040, Hatley Road, Sutton Road, B1042, B1040, King Street and vice versa.
The Order will come into operation on 15 May 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (THORNCOTE ROAD AND THORNCOTE GREEN, NORTHILL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the lengths of Thorncote Road and Thorncote Green, Northill between Bedford Road and Brook End.
This temporary closure is required to enable vac pot maintenance works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 8 May 2024 between the hours of 9am and 3 pm. The roads will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Ickwell Road, Northill Road, Caldecote Road, Ickwell Road, Vinegar Hill, Thorncote Road and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (CHAPEL ROAD, MEPPERSHALL) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Chapel Road, Meppershall at its junction with Hoo Road.
This temporary closure is required to enable haunching works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 17 May 2024 between the hours of 8am and 6 pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Fildyke Road, Shefford Road, A507, Chapel Road and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (MILL LANE, STOTFOLD) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Mill Lane, Stotfold between Rook Tree Lane and Mill Close.
This temporary closure is required to enable street lighting, footway installation and carriageway repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 13 May to 7 June 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Rook Tree Lane, Malthouse Lane, Mill Lane and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BEDFORD ROAD, OLD WARDEN) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Old Warden between Shefford Road and Warden Street.
This temporary closure is required to enable engineer access to overhead cables and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on 14 May 2024 between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30 pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via Southill Road, A603, Eastcotts Road, A600, Standalone Warren and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (SUN STREET, POTTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Sun Street, Potton outside number 8.
This temporary closure is required to enable gas service connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place from 22 to 26 April 2024. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via B1042, Swaden, Everton Road, Sandy Road, Potton Road, Everton Road, Myers Road, B1040 and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (DUNTON ROAD, EDWORTH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Dunton Road, Edworth approximately 200 metres south of Green Lane.
This temporary closure is required to enable scaffold removal works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.
It is expected that the works will take place on 21 April 2024 between the hours of 7am and 1pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.
The alternative route for this closure is via A1, A6001 , Dunton Lane, Millow and vice versa. The Order will come into operation on 21 April 2024 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.
