THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (THE CRESCENT, BUXTON) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, STOPPING AND ON STREET PARKING, PAY & DISPLAY) TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2024

Notice is hereby given that, on Thursday the 11th April 2024 Derbyshire County Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on Monday the 22nd April 2024 and its effect is:
TO PROHIBIT WAITING AT ANY TIME OF VEHICLES – (EXCEPT THOSE DELIVERING OR COLLECTING GOODS OR LOADING AND UNLOADING):
The Crescent, Buxton (north-west side)
From its junction with The Square in a northerly direction for 8
metres.
From a point 55 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 19 metres.
From its junction with the Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 14 metres.
From a point 24 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 4 metres.
From a point 50 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 14 metres.
The Crescent, Buxton (south-east side)
From its junction with Hall Bank in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 39.5 metres.
From a point 53 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 3 metres.
From its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 14 metres.
From a point 24 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 6 metres.
From a point 52 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 12 metres.
Exemptions will be made for vehicles used in connection with any building operation or demolition; removal of any obstruction to traffic; carrying out of statutory powers or duties or as part of a funeral or wedding cortege. The usual exemptions for disabled persons’ vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s badge will also apply.
TO PROHIBIT STOPPING AT ANY TIME OF VEHICLES:
The Crescent, Buxton (north-west side)
From a point 74 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction, to a point 64 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant.
The Crescent (south-east side)
From a point 78 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north-easterly direction, to a point 64 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant.
TO DESIGNATE PAY AND DISPLAY, EXCEPT PERMIT
HOLDERS, 8:00AM TO 6:00PM, MAXIMUM STAY 2 HOURS, NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR:
The Crescent, Buxton (north-west side)
From a point 8 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 37 metres.
From a point 28 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 22 metres.

The Crescent, Buxton (south-east side)
From a point 39.5 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 13.5 metres.
From a point 56 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 22 metres.
From a point 30 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 22 metres.
Scale of Charges: 30 minutes – 40p, 1 Hour – 70p and Up to 2 Hours - £1.20.
TO DESIGNATE DISABLED BADGE HOLDER ONLY PARKING PLACE, 8:00AM TO 8:00PM:

From a point 14 metres south-west of its junction with the Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
From a point 45 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
The Crescent, Buxton (south-east side)
From a point 14 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a south-westerly direction, for a distance of 10 metres.
Any permanent Traffic Regulation Orders made prior to this Order, insofar as they relate to the lengths of road listed above, will be revoked and the lengths of road referred to in the remaining Order items will be amended accordingly.
TO REVOKE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS FROM THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (ON-STREET PARKING, WAITING AND LOADING PROHIBITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS) CONSOLIDATION ORDER 2016:
NO WAITING AT ANY TIME
The Crescent, Buxton (north side)
On the north-west side of the fountain from a point 94 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction for a distance of 41 metres.
From a point 67 metres north of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly and then north-westerly direction for 9 metres.
PAY AND DISPLAY 8AM-6PM MAX STAY 2 HOURS NO RETURN WITHIN 1 HOUR EXCEPT FOR PERMIT HOLDERS
The Crescent, Buxton (north-west side)
From a point 63 metres south-west of its junction with The Quadrant in a north-westerly and then south-westerly direction for 95 metres.
The Crescent, Buxton (south-east side)
On the south-east side of the fountain.
DISABLED BADGE HOLDERS ONLY 8AM-8PM

From a point 107 metres north-east of its junction with Hall Bank in a north easterly direction for 12 metres.
MOTORCYCLE PARKING, 8.00AM – 8.00PM
The Crescent, Buxton (north side)
From a point 57 metres north-east of its junction with The Square in a north-easterly direction for 10 metres.
A copy of the Order and documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection at the County Council’s principal offices known as County Hall on Smedley Street in Matlock between 9am and 5pm on each day from Monday to Friday and on request by emailing Place.permanentTRO@derbyshire.gov.uk until 6 weeks after the Order is made until 23rd May 2024.Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the ground that a requirement of that Act or any relevant regulation made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the 11th April 2024 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
